Hello,
We have had four boxers and each and everyone of them has had allergic reactions to a bite or something outside. You are smart to always have the benedryl on had. Our last terrible allergic reaction was from something in the yard and our boy Lewis was on steriods and benedryl and after we stopped that it came back again. It does take some time for an allergic reaction to clear up in these amazing creatures. Keep using the benedryl until you see no bumps at all and then maybe one more day. Good luck!

I went through the same thing with my puppy and he had to have two of the steroid shots from the vets. My vet said that he could not have another one that summer so I had to keep him inside except for him to go potty for a month because if he had another reaction then I could lose him and we weren't sure if it was food or enviornmental allergies . I had him tested for allergies and they all came back negative so the vets had me put him on Science Diet Z/D to test for food allergies. He started to lose weight and it was really expensive and didn't last long so I ended up finding out what he was allergic to by process of elimination. He is allergic to anything with fish or fish oil in it. He is currently on California Natural Lamb and Rice with no issues.

The same thing happened to Lola last year, it happened for a few days running. First day I rushed her to the vets, they gave her injection of some sort and kept her in to keep an eye on her. Picked her up that evening took her home and same thing next morning so back she went again and so on each morning. We never did find out what it was an allergic reaction to but the vets thought probably an insect bite or sting.

Here she is each morning, did Niko look like this

Oh poor Niko! Poor Lola! She doesn't even look like the same dog!

I sure hope you figure it out and Niko feels better soon!

I know she looks totally different. The vet didn't seem to know much about allergic reactions like that and when her face reacted again the next morning he kept saying she must have been near what did it in the first place again. It was only through this site I learnt the reaction can last days.
