Hi,

Bailey is a nightmare, he's fine when we are there, and also seems fine when we leave and come back, but whilst we're gone he always shreds his bed!!

I've lost count of the amount of beds / quilts we have bought him - we often come after a week or so of him having a new bed and it'll be completely shredded - stuffing everywhere!

Anyone know of some good bedding that he won't just shred?

I think it is a bad habit, they don't forget anything! Put the bed away for a few weeks when you are not there and see if that will change the pattern!

Harley shredded every blanket I put in his crate. I finally just decided that he can't have bedding. I feel bad, but I'd feel even worse if he got sick from eating the bedding, or choked on it.

Plus, he always spilled his water on the blankets, and that made them gross and uncomfortable to lay on I'm sure. Now that he has no bedding, he spills his water much less.

I looked for a bed that he couldn't shred, and wasnt able to find one anywhere. There are some crate mats that say they're durable, but I looked at them and knew they couldnt stand up to a bored boxer.

Buttons has this problem also, little minx evilicon

The problem in confiscating her bed though is that she would just attack Biff's!

We're hoping she'll grow out of it, meanwhile the sewing machine is a permanent fixture in the living room

Try a Primo Pad crate mat. I have a very energetic 7 month old who has chewed blankets, beds, pillows in his crate. This mat was the best investment I have made plus if the dog destroys it they will replace it for free, I bought a 28 x 42 inch and I think it cost me around 55.00. Also, if the dog has an accident in the crate it cleans up easily. The website is www.primopads.com

Looks nice. I wonder if they have something like that in Belgium.
Akira has the same bad habid of shredding his beds.

Was your boxer able to destroy it yet or is it really that strong?

Nope, Cooper has not been able to shred it, he tried but he just couldn't do it so now he just enjoys laying on it in the crate.

bella will only shred the blanket is if it is covering the cage. She would pull it in through the bars and proceed to sharpen her nails with it, but she dont mess with the blankets in her cage. We did buy her a doggie pillow and put it on top of the blankets just so she would be a little warmer. she seems to love it but she hates being in the cage she just sulks til we get home.

I checked in to this and I am finding that this is the same as the best-quality gym mats. I am trying to find this industrial vinyl fabric and closed cell foam but it isn't as price effective as the primo-pad. You have a great find as my pup is chewing through all our blankets and the one on top too!

I am telling you this mat is great and he loves it. I just ordered two more for my sons' dog I highly recommend them. I am sure you will be happy with the pad.
