Becoming Boxer Stubborn?

My previously sweet angel has turned a new leaf. He has taken to doing the opposite of what I say or command. Before, I could point and say "go on" and he would go in the direction I pointed. Now he looks me in the eye....AND THEN goes the opposite way....what a little turd! He also takes 15 seconds or more to sit after I ask him to sit if he does it at all! And when I tell him to come while we are in the house he runs away, especially when he thinks it's crate time. (But luckily he still listens while we are outside when it comes to recall.) He is becoming a stubborn little jerk and I don't know how to fix it. One time I yelled at him and he looked at me with sad eyes and droopy ears and it broke my heart... So a little advise would be appreciated.

Feel your pain..

Ive had this same problem with duke the last couple months. He just turned 4. I think he was getting a little too spoiled. I put up all of his toys, no treats, food etc. He had to "re-earn" everything and thats worked for us for the most part. I think he just got too comfortable and had things handed to him. I think on here they refer to it a lot as "Nothing in life is free".

Ah yes, those "teenage years." First, realize it is very typical at about a year for them to seem to challenge and/or forget everything. Part of the maturing process. Saying that, you may need to calmly revert back to basic positive based training, even though he knows the drill. Don't yell or get mad, it becomes a nonproductive form of engagement he will like but you won't. As DUCKISRAD says, have him reearn everything, and NILIF.
