Beaux keeps running out the front door!!!!

Hi, I sure hope I can get a quick fix to my little problem. Beaux (my boxer) had decided he likes to run out of the front door when one of my kids open it. He runs out so fast, then wants to play a game of "tag your it". My little ones are 2 1/2 and think it is funny to let Beaux out. It is actually quite amusing, Beaux runs out the front door, my 5 year old runs after him to catch him, I run after my 5 year old and tell him to get in the house. Well, as you can guess my 2 1/2 year olds then run out of the house (in different directions of course). Then I am left to try to get everyone back indoors. Does anyone know of a way and can stop Beaux from running out of the front door. He just started to do this. He is normally obedient, and will come when called. I am scared he may get hit by a car or something.

Get a high lock for your front door so your kids cant open it Or put babygates before the door. If he still gets out, then dont chase him.. run away from him. He will think this is a game. Run around the yard for a bit then run straight through the front door Lol then try to get the kids back

I do that when Buddy won't come. I can't get him to recall. The only thing I do is Hey Buddy look! and he always looks then I take off running. I hurt my back so I can't run fast but he still chases. I get inside and shut the door then stick out my tongue!!! As long as I give him a pat that he did good, he could care less how I did it.

I've noticed this. Precious does this. She runs out the door as soon as it's opened and if my 7 year old chases her, she just keeps on running. I tell him to run away from her so she'll chase him and usually works, unless one of the other neighborhood dogs are out, then she takes off for them. That is when I come outside and call her. haha. She'll normally come to me if I come outside and call her.

Hey Ya'll! Thanks for the tips. Beaux figured out real quick that if we run and he chases us, he is going in the house. It was a fun game at first. Not what he wants to do. Just this morning he ran out to the bus stop, on the way back to the house he spotted a cat (he hates cats). He takes off after the neighbors cat!!! After quite a chase, he chases the cat up to the top of a tree!! I am so glad that cats can climb trees. The cats owner came out because of all of the noise! So here is Beaux running circles around the bottom of the tree jumping and barking!! I am trying to call him and yell at my twins to get out of the road and in the house. I just kept telling the neighbors how sorry I was. They just moved in a few months ago, I can only imagine what they think of the lady with all the kids and "mean" dog that got the cat stuck up in the tree. The poor little cat stayed in the tree for a few hours. Not sure how it got down. Whew, what a morning!!
