I'm sorry. I checked and don't see a grooming forum.

Im still new maybe I just dont know where to look.

Harley is getting dirty. Never had a problem before until he started spending more time outside (no doubt enjoying the nicer weather b/c i cant get him to come in)

I pet him and my hands are black.

I bathe him, but no good. I think the dirt is really deep. Tried oatmeal too, but same outcome.

Any suggestions?

You could get one of those rubber brushes and really work in the shampoo to the skin. Wash it off, and shampoo again until it is all out.
Any time he comes inside just wipe him down with baby wipes to stop the dirt getting in too deep :)

We have one called a Zoom Groom. It's great for getting all that loose, dead hair off and lathering them up in the bath.

I use oatmeal shampoo along with a rubber mitt (kinda like the zoom groom) and make sure that I rub her real good with a towel when she gets out.

A handheld shower attachment is a must - it really helps with rinsing deep down - I use a soft brush to scrub Duchess - she likes the back rub plus I'm getting the job done.

Thanks for the tips. The baby wipe thing sounds right up my alley (i have a 1 year old). Didnt know you could do that!

I also never thought about using a brush of any sort.

The biggest problem i have is the water rolls right off of him. Doesnt seem to soak into his fur. But i will try your suggestions, and hopefully that will do the trick!

Oh yeah, Krose showers, he never gets a bath

I use my hands like a brush so he gets soap everywhere;)

Yep, showering with a handheld showerhead is the key and Mo'Chi loves it, especially the towelling afterwords.

I'm starting to think I'm the only one who takes her dog to the groomer, LOL!

I wipe her down every few days with wet towels and use those doggie wet wipey things for her feet and ears, and I'll brush her a few times a week, but once a month she goes in for a good scrub down in the groomer's tub.

Of course, I found an AWESOME groomer who uses only organic shampoos and uses a grinder on the toenails instead of a clipper...if I'd been unable to find such a great groomer I'd do it myself, too.
