Bath night

I appear to be blessed with two boxers who both LOVE baths. So tonight was bath night.

Little Henry was first in - he's not quite 16 weeks old yet, and that was only his second bath. Well apparently the water was just right 'cause he stood happily in his bath, drank a bit of water and tried to lick his shampoo as I lathered away. All the while Stella is waiting patiently for her turn.

So he's out, she's in, and this little guy keeps escaping the towel and racing back to the bathroom to try to leap back in (luckily he's a little too small to clear the sides in a single bound). So she sits happily, stands to get her tummy done, sits back down to rinse - pure bliss, I stayed totally dry!

Now the pair of them are racing round and round the house (don't know what it is about baths, but it sure brings on the "boxer burn"). Unfortunately they've just flattened a cat, but he's up again so it looks like he's gonna be alright, LOL.

Anyone else's boxer love bathtime?

Too Funny!

Oh it is wonderful that they both love the bath. And way too funny about flattening the cat. (funny how you expressed it I mean). I love the "Boxer Burn". My little guy had his first the other night. He was not impressed at all and I nearly ended up in the tub with him!! But he certainly did leave skid marks on each end of the living room carpet doing his burn! I'm thinking of carpeting the kitchen now.... he slides into the sliding glass door! I laugh... run run run run...sliiiiidde.....thud. Run run run run... sliiiiidde... thud. Good thing their heads are made of steel.

Daisy is okay with her baths but she sure does this boxer burn right after as well!!! Funny!:p

Yep mine love their baths too :D
I use a shower hose on them in the bath, and they just stand there, ever so well behaved while they get hosed. They lick the water every now and then too.

Its funny, cause who ever is first, wants to get back in when they are watching who ever's second.......even though they just had their turn wackicon

Then of course when they are both done, it's time for the Boxer burn all over the house

I'm envious of all of you who have boxers that like to take baths!:)

Samantha has never liked a bath. Thank goodness I don't have to give her one very often. I just wipe her down real good sometimes and try to get the loose hairs off.:p :p

Delilah loves her bath so much that she lays down in the bath tub. It has been raining alot in our area. My back yard is muddy in spots. She likes to go in the mud, I have to wash her feet when she comes in. She comes in and goes straight to the bathroom and gets in the tub to get her feet washed. Samson is not too crazy about his bath. He will tolerate it.

My girls love their showers. We don't give them baths because they hate the bathtub-I think it is because they tend to slide a lot when they are in it. So, when I go to take a shower I get company. Quick story: My kids were playing in the yard with their bathing suits on this past summer, and got really muddy (black dirt+lots if water=black dirt painted kids) so I hustled them into the house and into my bathroom to take a shower. Well, I went to wipe up the floor while they were getting washed off and walked into the bathroom and what do I see? 3 kids 2 dogs and lots of mud in the shower! Brit & Bay were enjoying their rub downs from the kids. I had to jump into the shower with my clothes on and get the kids and the dogs washed off so I could then clean my shower! What a mess! So, now when I say lets take a shower Brit & Bay's ears peak up and they get the wiggle butts going! BTW: Not only do the dogs do the running around the house but sometimes my kids will go along with the dogs. Talk about a crazy household!:D

Oh how I wish Murray loved to take a bath. The guilt I have when I have to pretend I'm taking him for a walk only to lead him to the tub!:(

Xena loves her bath! She is very much a lady when it comes to bathing and smelling nice! She sits calmly in the tub and hands me a paw to wash, then another, she even lifts her back legs one at a time to be washed!:p She used to do the Boxer Burn, but not so much now I guess cuz she is getting older (soon to be 7). She is usually at the tubside when my 2yr old daughter is having her bath, and she whines and cries, hoping for an invitation! Yet....there is one thing I do not understand. While she enjoys being clean and smelling nice, why then, will she roll around in a pile of another's dog poop, or even bird poop?? And right after doing this, she insists on a bath!! Of course she needs one by then, but it can be maddening sometimes, especially when she just had a bath like an hour before!! Just wondering if this is a natural "dog thing", or is she just finding clever ways to have a bath!

Jersey has never liked the bath. I went and bought one of those non-slip rubber mats for the tub, and that seems to have improved her tolerance though. The only way to keep her in the tub long enough to get the job done is if I climb in, close the shower doors and stand in the tub to wash her. She's calm about it, but does not like it.

I tried blow drying her on the 'air only' setting after one bath and she freaked out, so she doesn't like the blow drying either. I think she prefers to stay dirty and wet!
