Was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to train a dog not to bark. I'm a little worried were getting a pup in 3 weeks and live in an apartment. Landlord said dogs were fine as long as she doesn't bark loud/often. What are any training techniques to keep barking to a minamum? Thanks in advance.

You just might be in luck, boxers aren't really a noisy breed. 
The boxers I've had experience with have only barked when unfamiliar people come to the door. It's not usually obnoxious either--just a couple barks and they're done. If that could potentially be a problem, you can desensitize the puppy early on by feeding treats any time people knock or come through the door. Even better if you can get those people to feed the puppy treats once they come inside, too. Then it becomes a cool thing, "oh yay, people at the door!" and not something they feel the need to defend.
If that's an acceptable amount of barking though, it might be something you just want to leave alone. I kind of like that my dogs alert bark.

Boxers don't really bark as said above, they really only bark at strangers... or deer.... They are pretty quiet.

My Harley does not bark at anything. Even when people knock on the door. Titan however likes to bark when he hears noise from outside. But he is not ridiculous, just barks a few times and paces around growling for a minute until he understands there is no threat.
The only dogs I have ever known that bark a lot are under 35 pounds or are shephards. Which is why I could never understand why most apartments only allow little dogs, when they are the ones who never shut up.

Although if you plan on crate training your puppy.... then you might wake up the neighborhood hahaha! I don't know about everyone else but for the first few nights to the first week, my boxer puppy made some of the loudest, craziest barking sounds I'd ever herd while she was learning to sleep in her crate. But it is worth it! There are so many benefits to crate training a puppy.
Other than that, my boxer only barks when people ring the doorbell or when she is SUPRE excited to go for a walk.

My pup only gets loud when he wants my dad to play with him. They like to play rough with each other and when the playing stops Achilles try to get his attention with barks and pouncung around.
If you teach your a strong "NO" meaning stop doing what your doing he should stop barking when you say so. Every once in a while achilles will try to be rough with me and when i ignore him he starts to bark. I give him the firm "NO" and he stops.

I agree with all the above. Boxers and not barkers. Zoe rarely barks- only if it is dark out (she's afraid of the dark ) and someone comes to the door. Other than that almost never barks. The other day she barked at my bulldog to play, but that didn't go on long. Then the other morning, our neighbor dogs were barking like crazy at her. Zoe just stood there with the look of, "what the heck are you doing?"

Achilles does the samething, it always makes me so proud, specially when we are at the petstore or walking around and other people see. I love to see the owners struggling to control their dog. Me and achilles both purposely stop and watch them, knowing we are the ones that are causing the other dog to act out.

My boxer is really quiet most of the time. He lets out a couple of barks at my other dog if she lays down in his bed. The only issue we have with noise is when he goes into his kennel when we go out, he sometimes goes a little bit wild making some horrific whining/barking noises (especially when we get home and he sees my other dog run to the door and he wants out) but he gets into way too much trouble if we leave him free while we are out at this point.
He also doesn't bark when people come to the door, but often doesn't notice until they are inside since he is deaf, so that might deter him a bit.
With previous breeds that were barkers I would give them a firm no when they would bark, and would praise them if they remained quiet during normal barking times (like people coming to the door). It didn't eliminate it completely but helped substantially.
