Our sweet, energetic Banshee crossed the rainbow bridge Thursday morning.
She was fine earlier that evening, rambunctious and playing with our neighbor kids. Then, she threw up twice and collapsed to the ground and wasn't breathnig. I gave her rescue breathing and she recovered, stood up and wagged her tail.
We rushed her to the emergency vet, where they told us she was in a cardiac arrhythmia, but was still stable. She then shifted into rapid ventricular tachycardia, but was still awake and doing OK. They told us she'd need to stay the night and be on a lidocaine drip, and asked us say goodnight. We kissed her, she kissed us back, and we told her what a good girl she was and said goodnight. As we were walking out to our car to leave her, they came running out and asked us to come back, as her status has changed.
The vet told us that she had collapsed and they were trying to revivie her. Sadly, they were unable to bring our baby back.
We miss our girl so much. She was a light in our lives, and a constant source of joy and love and ENERGY! We can't believe that this happened so suddenly, but are grateful that she didn't suffer. We know she is playing with her buddies at the bridge waiting for us, but our house is so empty without her.
We love you and miss you Banshee, You gave us a lifetime of love and joy in your 3 1/2 years.
