Banning of Boxers?

Has anyone heard of such a thing? Is it possible? I am upset to hear that local communities here are starting to ban certain breeds without objective statistics to back them up. As you might expect, Pit Bulls have been targeted, but also Rotweillers. Fortunately, my town is currently rejecting this trend, citing lack of any particular trend in complaints (only 3 of 200 complaints attributed to Pit Bulls, and none related to attacks). The reason I am posting is due to fear of some of my friends and ignorance of the breed, that boxers might be targeted. I am trying not to over-react to this. I would really appreciate it if anyone knows of any resources to help boxer owners (or any responsible pet owner) protect their rights and the rights of their pets.

I know some people on here, I think mainly in Texas, say that Boxers are banned at many apartment complexes. :(

Breed banning is an ongoing argument in many states and communities. Some insurance companies already refuse to insure owners of any "bully" breeds.

I have 2 boxers and a rottweiler and wasn't able to go with a couple insurance agencies when I bought my house because they called the rottweiler a "flesh eating dog" So far I haven't had any issues w/ the boxers and hopefully never will!

What? "A flesh eating dog"? All dogs are carnivores. LOL-they would have had a huge argument from me.

We went camping at an R.V. resort recently and their literature stated that dogs are welcome, except pit bulls.

All but 3 apartment places I could find here in Grand Rapids, MI had Boxers on their Banned list.......they called it the "Aggressive Breed List"......I was shocked......luckily I found a nice place that accepted Kaybie, and better yet, we are moving into our new house tomorrow so won't need to worry about renting places anymore!
