Bad Breath!

We've been feeding Apollo and Ajax a raw food diet for 1 1/2 years now. They eat the same thing for meals, treats, etc. Apollo's breath is fine - no smell. Ajax on the other hand has really stinky breath! Any suggestions on what might help his breath? We've tried the store bought mints (which he really likes) but they don't seem to help. Any particular food you know of that might help the stink go away?

Thanks!

Parsley? Generally bad breath is an indication of an underlying health issue. Bones usually do a very good job of keeping teeth clean and white. Maybe a vet visit to look at the gums will help

I have read that bad breath is one early indicator of kidney problems... ? I'm sure it's nothing, but if it's really, unbearably bad :))) I agree that a vet visit may be warranted.

I thank you both for your excellent suggestion. We tried to brush Ajax's teeth and found an area of the gum that looks like it is infected, so it's off to the vet's we go on Thursday. Hopefully that will solve the problem. I still might try parsley, especially on nights when the boys eat sardines for dinner. Thanks again!
