As I said before this is alot like your children. I do not hit my kids, but.......there has been times when it was necessary. One time my daughter ran out onto the road, I spanked her a__! That is something I will not "discuss" with her, that is dangerous and I mean business. I feel there is a fine line between abuse and discipline. And sometimes it is necessary for the discipline to make an impact.

Guilty also. When Rocki was a baby I thought she was definately possessed by a demon. I should've known....the first night we had her my sister and I picked her up from the pet store (the only place we could find a boxer at the time, she was a gift for our Dad, who had just been diagnosed with chronic leukemia, and LOVES boxers; eventually Rocki became mine :D . Anyway, when we were driving her home, she would NOT stop biting me and did this (only to me) for probably the first 6 months we had her. I am a very tolerant pet person (I describe Rocki as me raising her to be a free spriit, since I'm such a softie with her), but I can remember letting it go so far and then screaming (not that she stopped!), and then also remember crying from yelling at her.
Now, the naughty thing is when she's mad at us, she goes and steals the cat food, while I'm saying "Rocki, don't eat her food!", so a couple of times she's gotten taps on her hiney (as I'm tapping she's still eating, so you can tell I'm really making a difference. Smokey (the cat) also gives her some swipes on her butt when she eats her food. It's the funniest thing to see her (60 lbs.) running to hide behind me because the 8 lb. cat is chasing her!!!:p

Canon is very stubborn sometimes and the only way I can get his attention is to give him a little pop on the butt. It doesn't hurt him, but when I do this he knows I mean business and settles down.nonoicon
