Back to the crate?

My Ellie is now 6 months old. She has become my baby. She has been crate trained since she was 6 weeks old. I bought a new house about a month ago, since then at night I have been letting her sleep with me. For the first couple of weeks she did fine, but in the last week I have gotten up 3 different mornings and she has had an accident during the night. Here's my question(s)...should I start making her sleep in her crate again? Limiting her water at night? Or do you think they were isolated incidences and I shouldn't worry about them?

I would rule out a medical condition first. Since this has occured in the last week something may be amiss. From my experience, at 6 months she should be able to hold it all night. Is she having accidents in her sleep?

She isn't having accidents in the bed. She gets up out of bed during the night and wanders...then pees in different spots. It really would kill me to put her back in her crate at night. I would miss her stealing all the covers. She did start last week getting treated for the Red Mange, but I don't think the dip would be a reason for her to be having accidents. She drinks a LOT of water. I'm wondering if I should maybe take her water bowl up at night when we go to bed.

I wonder about the dip, its pretty toxic stuff. But i would defintely take her water up. We take Diesel and Hemi's up at about 8 or a bit after. and then make sure they go right before bed.

Id set your alarm for midnight and take her out yourself It might be a pain, but my guess is its better than having to always clean up pee in the morning

I would also shut the bedroom door, so that she can't wander through the house.

Zoe is almost 10 months (WOW...I can't believe she's that old already!) and she still can't hold it all night. Now granted I go to bed early 9:00 and wake up about 6:30. I usually have to take her out once a night. She wakes me up by wining and scratching the covers. There are nights that she can go all night without going out but that is usually when I pick her water up about two hours before I go to bed.

Ha Ha. I just had to share this story as I found it quite funny. Lance is just about 15 weeks now and he is just a total ham. He knows what faces to pull to get what response, however, when we are sleeping at night, that doesn't work because our eyes are closed. WELL...last night at about 4am, Lance got up (he usually sleeps through the night) and I guess he had been trying to get our attention but of course we were sleeping. So...all of a sudden I hear this one, really loud, deep bark and feel his ENORMOUS foot land on my cheek. ah ha ha ha he was obviously saying to me, "mommy, i've tried to be nice and sweet, but this is your last warning...I have GOT to pee ...NOW" ha ha ha it was so cute. Since it has been so cold here, we ran outside, he pottied, and then jumped back in bed for a warm snuggle. Best of Luck with your pup.
