I will put up a gate to keep him confined in one part of the house and he will literally put a paw on the top and just knock it down and walk right over it as if it weren't there. Trust me, he knows he is not supposed to do it, but this and counter surfing are the 2 things I have not been able to correct. Any suggestions?

I just bought a new gate for my kitchen. It is a Four Paws gate and it is pressure mounted. It is tall, so neither of mine can jump it or climb it (Olive climbs every baby gate I put up). It has a door that latches and swings open so you don't have to climb over it or take it down every time you want to go into the room. I think they run around $65 to $70, I gave way to darn much for mine. After I bought it I looked it up on the internet and I was taken for about $95 dollars but there is only one place in town I can get it. Oh well, it was definately worth it.

I have two that I used when my son was little and when my girl was a pup. They came with hardware that actually mounted to the doorway. One side was hinged and the other side was a latch. The gate swung both directions. I believe I got them at Babies 'R Us and I think they were made by Graco. They took alot of abuse and held up really well.

I got the Dream Baby Extra Tall Swing Close Gate from Walmart Online for 63 dollars. I chose it because of the height (39.4") and because it had vertical bars so that she couldn't get a food hold on anything!

It comes with disks that you can screw or use the double sided adhesive to attach it to your doorway, then the side pressure points go right into the disk so that when its pushed on it will not come out of the disk and get knocked over. (I recommend using the screws depending on your doorway, I used the adhesive disk and when we moved and I pryed it off it took the stucco stuff off with it!)

Thats what I am finding out! I am also finding how different two boxers can be. Pokey basically would not cross a string if I put one across the floor and Reese knows no boundaries!
Just like my skin kids, totally opposite! Just gotta love'em! They are such a special breed I can't imagine owning anything else.
