As for the hair loss - it's hard to tell from a description, but one (reasonably likely) possibility is mange. You should have your vet check that out with a skin scrape.

Hi my lil guy dozer has mange. Red mange. My vet took a skin scrape and thats what he has. It shoudn't hurt him. But you will see him scratch. I would advise you to take him to the vet but do your research first. Look up demodectic mange that way you can understand the vet. Ask him about an oral dose or the weekly shot NOT MITABIN!!!! That stuff is very toxic and can hurt your puppy. So good luck!
