Baby Asher has trouble eating

Our newborn Asher is being bottle fed since mom dried up before we could get him home from the hospital, but sometimes when I feed him he breathes in and it comes out his nose and then he coughs alot and I have to stop and clean him up and try again. Sometimes it takes three tries before he gets it right. Any ideas on why this is happening??

How old is your pup? Has he been checked to see if there is an opening in his palate? I don't know if it would be the same but possibe, years ago my (human) nephew was born with a cleft palate and milk would very often come out of his nose. It wouldn't hurt to have it checked out, or over feeding at one time could possibly be the culprit too. It could be a variety of things. If I were you I would have him checked out. Good luck

thanks for the help, the doctor said we were over feeding him. so im gonna back off on the amount and frequency. hopefully that stops the problem.
