auricular hematoma

Has anyone ever had to deal with a auricular hematoma? It was a large lump on my Kira's ear. I notice it on Saturday and took her to the vet today. It had gotten quite large, about the size of a silver dollar. The doctor drained it and injected it with a small dose of steroid. He said it could come back a couple of times before it is completely gone. I guess it can cause the ear to kind of shrivel up and close off the ear opening. He said they are not very common in boxers and since her ears are cropped he wasn't sure how hers was going to heal up. Just was wondering if anyone knows anything about them. Thanks!

Bruce already had it 4x already ... 2x in each ear I think. The vet would remove a small piece of flesh (triangular shape) to drain the fluids. After it healed, there would be a scar underneath the ear. Luckily, it hasn't come back for a couple of years now. BTW, his ears are natural/floppy.
