attention to paws

i have to admit, i dont post alot but read and learn tons. thanks to Boxer World !
after nine months of constant attention, handling, and training our brindle is just so the perfect companion in every way.
to the point........ My corcern is that he will like lick and clean his paws. i didnt think much of it until i noticed it to be a little obsessive to the point he is loosing his hair from this. his left rear and right front seem to be the worst.
please, any ideas.?

Itchy paws is a common symptom of allergies. Perhaps he is allergic to something in his food or something in the environment and he's licking because they itch. If he's doing it to the point of causing hairloss then it is time for a trip to the vet to get it checked out.

thanks so much..!! and yea seeing vet this week. ha, trying to figure what he is alleric to.. hmmm
what are your thoughts with the rawhide chew bones...??

I have ALWAYS read that rawhide is bad, bad, bad for all dogs...I never buy them. Have also read best bones to give is uncooked ones, but I have given my dogs the smoked bones and never had a problem.

Tyson was doing the same thing. I took him to vet on Thursday and he got a steroid shot. My husband shampooed the carpet and used a different shampoo. The vet also put him on antibiotics

It could also be a yeast infection.
