At my wit's end with chronic diarrhea... advice?

Thanks for the vibes. No, we haven't ruled that out yet, but the last time I was at the vet they said it was unlikely because he still has a full appetite, he's not vomiting and doesn't have any pain.

Update: I took Tyson in yesterday. I got a week's worth of Baytril to try. She said I should start seeing results within 48 hours. If they do work, then I'll need to get a couple more weeks worth. He gets a tablet every 12 hours, so he had one yesterday evening and one this morning so far.

They were not able to do the blood test because Tyson needs to be fasted for 8 - 12 hours first, and he had eaten yesterday morning (I was unaware of this and the previous vet didn't mention it in my last visit).

So the plan right now is if he doesn't improve by Saturday, I'll bring him in for the blood test. This morning he did have pretty normal stool, but I don't want to get my hopes up in case it's a fluke.

Update: We've now had 3 pretty normal stools. He only went twice yesterday (morning/night) versus the 3 - 6 times he was before. WHAT A RELIEF! I'm hoping this continues. I'll have to call the vet later this week and get a couple more weeks worth of Baytril. It seems to be helping!!!

Rosie had an allergic reaction to a spider bite and did a round of prednisone.Then ate something that did not agree with her shortly after. Long story short, she had constant extremely loose stool after that, some worse than others. Vet switched her to Iams (yes i know the oppinions of Iams products) Low Residue dry and canned food and the reaction was swift and just amazing. I tried after couple weeks to go back to Wellness, which was her regular food previously and the stools became soft and hugh amounts again almost imediately. Put her back on the Low Residue and once again she was instantly better. She acts like she feels better as well as no more gassiness. The stools are also less frequent and half the amount as before which leads me to believe shes getting the chance to absorb more of the good stuff she needs. So for now thats what shes getting and her energy level is way up. Like a pup again! wearing me out! Lol. Good luck to ya.
