As for what I add it is 1 tsp psyllium, 1/4 tsp prozyme, and 1 acidolpholis capsule to each meal of 1 cup food. It has worked well for us. With all this he has had solid stools. I never knew I could be so happy about poop!
I picked up both psyllium powder as well as acidophilus, both house brands and got the 50 % off. The acidophilus doesn't list a dosage on there, it only says 1.5 billion cells. So I plan on starting this tonight and stopping the pumpkin. Would your dosage work for him? Tyson is 55 lbs, not sure how big Thor is.

Thor is 80 lbs, and I give him one capsule of acidophilus, the same 1.5 billion. I had originally got the acidophilus somewhere else and it was 2.5 billion, so I have waiting to see how he does on the lower dose. So far so good. It seems I have read of others using this same dosage and I believe they had smaller dogs than Thor. Make sure you also have plenty of water out. The psyllium can make your pup thirsty. Thor always has a good drink after eating. I hope this works for you!

I am glad there is improvement! You do need to give it a few days, especially if he was on antibiotics for quite a while.

Sounds good! I'll be patient. He has been going 3x per day and yesterday he only went 2x, so that's also an improvement!
I've been reading this closely and was hoping for a dramatic finish, since my 8 mo old pup is having virtually the same problem and we've been through virtually all the same steps... he's a week shy of 8 mo and I can count on 1 hand the number of solid stools he's had. Thank goodness he's putting on weight and acting happy, but there is still a problem, made worse by a recent round of antibiotics. I've taken him to the vet over a dozen times, got a second opinion, cultures, blood tests, etc., etc., etc., and all I have to show for it are about $3k in receipts and a pup with pudding poop.

Unfortunately, Tyson hasn't improved much more than he did the initial day. While I'm still thankful it has a bit of form so I can actually pick it up versus just hose it into the ground, I haven't seen any other change since then.
I have a suspicion if I have to take Tyson in for blood tests that they are going to prescribe steroids, and I don't know if the side effects of steroids are worth solid poo. I guess I shouldn't assume though and I won't know for sure until he has his blood checked.
