So far so good *knock on wood.* No accidents or messes to clean up. Their stool does seem a bit firmer, but still pretty soft. At least it's better than pure liquid though!

They sure are loving the rice and beef. :)

Because instant rice is processed and has had many nutrients processed out of it that are naturally in rice.

pumpkin?

Have you tried the plain packed canned pumpkin? Not the pie filling, just plain pumpkin? A vet tech recommended it to me and it works! Only a couple of tablespoons though--and they do love it. Something about the fiber content. My boxer has the opposite problem, no poos, just constipated, but my springer spaniel girl has severe poops after she is stressed, as in a trip to the vet, being boarded, etc. Pumpkin works like a charm. Just make sure it is unsweetened.

I've heard of that, but I haven't tried it. I'd be worried about giving it to Tyson because he seems to be allergic to everything recently. He can't have dairy, and ever since he had head tremors I'm scared to give him chicken (he was on a chicken based food at the time, and I had read that tremors can sometimes be caused by food).

I'll have to stock on some for the other 2. It'd be nice to have something else on hand that doesn't require being cooked. :) I realized the other night that I was completely out of cooked rice and meat, so I had to get up super early and cook some more before work (and I have to be in at 6 AM!)

My poor Maggie had lots of problems with really loose stools. I did the rice and hamburg that seemed to help. I also tried the pumpkin this helped a little. But what seemed to help her the most was something that the pet store we use recommended. It is Eagle Pack--Holistic Solution. It is powered and you use 1/4 teaspoon per cup of food. For severe problem you double the amount. This is until the loose stools stop. I have to say this was the thing that worked the best for our Maggie. I will always keep this in the house! Just in case!
