Boxer Buddy
This evening a little flashy faun named Jasmine is coming to live at our house! Arthur's NEED to play sometimes is more than I have energy to engage in, so I though a second boxer would be a wonderful addition to the household. Wiggles times two!
Enter....Jazzy! We met last Saturday & the two of them played until they fell down exhausted, then rolled on their backs & kept playing. They would occasionally stop & just lay next to each other gathering strength for another go at it. It was half & half who was in the dominant position & who was submissive.
The folks who are fostering her said they think she was owned by a backyard breeder who abandoned her & her pups in a crate in an abandoned building when she developed mastitis & was having trouble feeding the pups. They were discovered still alive, but just.
Pups were all adopted - skin & bones Jasmine went to a foster home where she has been brought back to health & is a small but solid 50lbs. She apparently never saw a toy before & is not sure what they are all about, but will play tug of war with the foster folk's chihuahua. She will tear the door off of any crate (they tried a couple) (wow) & chewed through a hollow-core door when left in a room by herself. But with another dog, her separation anxiety goes away.
What a win/win situation! This little girl deserves a stable loving home & Arthur & I are going to get a lot more benefit by adding her to the household than she will! Oh Boy!
