There is a huge fire in Arizona right now. The Red Cross and Humane society are looking for donated:

Kennels - med to large
Blankets & Cots

If you have these items to give please watch channel 10 Fox News for the number to make an appointment to drop your items off in Phoenix.

Arizona Fire

Did you think it was good that most of the rescue people told people to take their pets, I thought that was unique and thoughtful?

Its soo sad about that land. I'm in the desert but Northern Arizona is sooo beautiful too! We have camped there with our boxers on a couple of occasions...

I'm so sorry for you guys! And it certainly is good that furbabies were included, cause they certainly should be. I wonder if there's somewhere I can drop stuff here in NC? I got lots of blankets and comforters that I need to do something with, this would be the perfect thing. Good luck!

I'm in Phoenix and the Rott rescue I volunteer with has collected crates and things for the pets up there. I also heard that the humane society is taking in animals from the shelters up in that area to free space for the evacuee's pets that will need a place to stay. This fire is nowhere near contained and I'm afraid it will get a lot worse before it's over. It's good to see that stables have offered to take livestock and our race track, Turf Paradise has opened all of it's stall space for the horses if needed. Turf also said they could use the space all summer.

I remember when Florida was on fire in '98, it was terrible. I hope it gets under control soon and I am thinking of and praying for everyone, (two legs and four legs) out there.

At this moment here in the UK our news is reporting that the fire is 50 miles long.

I send my prayers to all the the citizens and poor animals of the state of Arizona.

Thank you everyone for your prayers and well wishes. Yes, the fire is enormous and heading for a town of 7,000 people. Thank g-d the people in Arizona are so animal aware. The first call for help from the red cross was for the kennels, and evacuees were told to gather up there animals as well as their belongings when leaving. The red cross & human society should be praised for their work saving the animals and livestock here. Firefighters aren't having much luck because it is super dry and windy so keep up the prayers for all the people and animals alike.

Just wanted to say how worried I am for all of you and hope the fires get put out soon. Fire is such a terrible thing and loss.

I hope these fires end soon. It is very sad to hear about it in the news. The people that have lost their homes and business'. Fire is a terrible thing. Sending postive vibes to Arizona. I have never been out West but someday I would like to venture out in your neck of the woods, I hear it is beautiful out there.

I am watching these huge fires with disbelief and thinking with great sadness of all the people who have lost or will lose their homes and also the poor wildlife that will be lost and lose their homes in the burned forest. I understand the Arizona fire is becoming a 100 year event. God bless you all and may these terrible fires please be controlled soon.
