Are there any chew-proof plush toys?

we just buy our toys from a consignment store or a discount clothing place they only cost about a dollar so it doesn't matter if they destroy them. good luck

Its funny there are some plush toys that will last months in our house and then one day one of them will just totally destroy the toy and there were other plush toys that got shredded the day I brought them home smashicon

Kong toys are the best, and are the only toys they have in their crates, I only let them have the plush toys when I can supervise as I am afraid of them swallowing the stuffing or the squeaker, Nessa is always on a mission to remove the squeaker :D

I agree about the Fat Cat toys - I bought two of them at Target for Max - 1 is over a year old and still living. The snake I bought him for a Xmas present is still in great condition and we play tug of war with it all the time. Any other stuff toy gets destroyed in about an hour.

Great Idea!! I buy some at yard sales, after washing unstich a tiny seam, put a squeaker in it (you can buy replacement squeakers at petsmart) then stitch up!!

Yeah, one day I had to fish the squeaker right out of micah's throat. Gave me a real good scare so I have been afraid to give him any for a while. I'm going to Pet'sMart this weekend and will take a peek at these. thanks subamgr! :D

We have a couple of toys that are made with Kevlar and they are squishy for chewing. The boys have been unable to put even the slightest hole in either toy, despite their best efforts. We bought them at our local pet store. They don't have a tag on them, so I don't know the manufacturer, unfortunately.

After experimenting with all sorts of different brands of plush, I found the brand VIP to be the longest lasting. With both boxers tugging and shaking and attacking, these have held up. They have about 5 of them and they've been lasting for months. I have yet to throw any out. I'll try to find a link.

thwack

I just have to chime in on the Fat Cat toys... Jack recieved one as a gift in January, and it is still in excellent condition despite daily thwacking -- it's one of the only toys I feel safe leaving in his cage with him during the day. Oh how he loves his "Big Mean Kitty". The gift giver was a fellow boxer owner who also swore by the Fat Cat toys. I have since found them at PetCo locally. They are also wonderfully entertaining for boxer parents... I laughed out loud when i read the descriptions on the tags.. From the fat cat website desc:

"Our toys are designed for Maximum Floppability. That means that these toys have great floppy parts to whack your dog's head as they are shaken about. Dogs consider this a very good thing, Martha. Woof!" wackicon

Since I'm also on the lookout for new toys that are worthy of a boxer bash, I am going to give the VIP toys a try!
