The mailman, strangers walking by, & even my BF's friends have been afraid of Harley & Zoe. One of Blake's friends, that knows they are friendly, wouldn't even come into the house he was so afraid... If I leave the the door open for them to look outside thru the screen door they bark at the mailman. Several times he was leary to come up onto the porch...then he made friends with them. Any person walking by my house is a victim of the boxer barking. If the windows are open the kids walking by (I live by the high school) usually scream when they bark... Harley also doesn't like men.
There was one time I did something I probably shouldn't have smashicon A kid was trying to harass us on a walk. He was barking & making noises at the dogs, mainly Harley. I told him to stop & he was a smart a$$ & said 'what are you gonna do about it'. So, being the #itch & bad person that I am, told Harley "get 'em" (BF taught him that ) so Harley started barking. He wasn't barking at the kid but at something behind us but that was enough to shut that kid up!!! I feel horrible now for having Harley do that & would never do that again unless I was in a situation I needed protection to scare the person...

More people are scared of my Rottie not Ozzy though, his little butt is always a wagging  but when people come up the driveway, watchout!, like the windows are going to break, Ryker barks so loud and Ozzy jumps a mile high.

I did the same thing with some kids in the neighborhood that were always on my front yard near the window harassing the dogs (even knocking in the window!!!smashicon ). I had told them many times to go away and leave the dogs, but they just don't care. So once, I told my dogs to bark after them, and they did, the kids were scared for a while, but did come back!!! One of my friend was home, and I was talking to him about those kids. He just hold my two by their collar, open the front door, and told the kids that if they don't go away right now, he will let the dogs go and tell them to attack!!!;) This time, the kids really go away and never come again!!!:D

It was funny though when I met the kids and their mom on the street, and the mom ask if Pénéloppe (who was taking a walk with me) was nice, and I said yes, the kids said no, and even if the mom pet her, the kids didn't believe she was nice!!!:D

Good for you! It sounds to me like you might have been in a situation that warranted protection. Harley didn't bite the kid, he wasn't even really barking at him, so don't feel guilty. :) That kid had it coming!

People are definitely afraid of Jake. I really don't believe he'd even protect me, but it makes me feel better knowing that no one else knows that. When we encounter strange people on our walks it makes me feel better having him with me.

Yes, some people are afraid of my two, but that's okay with me. I never have had problems with prowlers or break-ins like some in my neighborhood. I've even seen door-to-door salesmen turn around and walk away when they hear the dogs barking!

Our UPS man is terrified! We used to live out of town and the dogs would run around the yard. The UPS man would pull in the drive and be greeted by 2 boxers and a dal. He would open the door of the truck and push the package out with his feet and close the door and leave. A lot of my family's friends are afraid and ask several times if Sonny is mean. Look at that face, does it look mean? NOOOO!!!!;)

Yes, because they stand there and jump at the fence when someone walks by. People are always commenting to us on our walks that "the white one sure can jump" or "gee they are much calmer outside of the yard." Sometimes it is downright embarrassing. I wish I had enough money for a privacy fence instead of the chain link.

Oh yes, people are afraid of Trinity. And she's only 6 months old and no where near full grown  The first thing people ask me is 'does she bite?" "Oh yes she does that's why I'm letting her walk up to you" smashicon I've even had some people cross the street so they wouldn't have to walk past her

:D definitely!!!!

They always ask if he bites!!
And I always answer, he will if you hurt me. Do you wanna try:LOL:

The last sentence is not true:rolleyes:
He'd probably be the first to run away:LOL: That's how he used to be actually but there are some changes lately with him. He growled for the first time to a dog, no teeth seen, 2 days ago. hmm..
