Apples

Are apples bad for boxers? I was eating an apple the other day and I dropped a piece. Jake scooped it up and ate it! Everytime he sees me with an apple he won't leave me alone until I give hime some. He doesn't beg for anything else like that but I am not sure if its okay for them to have a couple of pieces? Anyone got some input for me????

Apples, bananas and oranges are ok but no seeds or pits from fruits. Buddy loves bananas and oranges.

For reasons of being toxic to dogs, you need to avoid onions, avocados, grapes/raisins and the pits of fruits (especially large pits such as peaches or mangoes).

And for the reason that it is likely to cause gas, you might like to avoid such vegetables as brocolli, cabbage, and brussel sprouts

Ozzy loves apples and bananas!, so much so that my skin kid was drinking a freshly made bananas and orange smoothie, and Ozzy knocked it straight out of his hand and drank the whole lot!, just couldnt cope with the banana smell!!!

If I am correct, apples in and of themselves are ok but the seeds are toxic to dogs. I belive I read here that they contain traces of arsnic.

Oscar loves apples. Of course I don't feed him the core. I sometimes put natural applesauce in his Kong before I freeze it. He loves apples, bananas, and strawberries. Lilly hates all those things but loves watermelon and cantelope. Before coming here I didn't know that dogs would like fruit, but they do. Of course I don't feed them grapes because they are toxic to them.

Bettis loves fruit!! So much that my kids have to eat their banans in seclusion or else they'll have to share. He also loves strawberries and apples, too. I once made banana muffins and that's when I discovered that he can almost reach the counter top. When I came downstairs, 3 or 4 muffins were missing. My 4 year old son said, I thought since Bettis likes bananas he'd like these too, I think they're yucky, so i gave em to him!!" At least someone appreciated my home baked goodies.

Sasha loves bananas and follows us through the house as we try to hide to eat them! I have given her apples a few times as well. She loves it all...including the grapes that I now know are off limits!
