Hello, A couple of days ago my boxer, Apollo, tore into a loaf of bread and ate the whole thing. Most of the plastic bag looked like it was still there but it may be possible that he might have eating a little piece of plastic. I do not know if it is a coincident or not, but, he now has a hack and then attempts to throw up but nothing happens. On a couple of instances there has been some flem but nothing larger than quarter size. It is kind of like he always has to clear his throat and then tries to hack something up. He still has been eating his normal amount of dog food and has been drinking water like normal for a 6 month old puppy. I am worried that a piece of plastic might be stuck in his throat passed the point of where I can see. I was just checking to see if anyone has ever had this problem (the coughing, not the bread) and I was trying to get a heads up before I take him to the vet. Any advice on the situation would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I would not think the plastic would be a problem but I guess anything is possible. I suppose if it continues and is frequent you may want to have the vet look at him - at least for piece of mind. Since he is eating and drinking like normal an obstruction is unlikely. Was there a wire twist tie or plastic closure clip thing on the bag that he may have eaten? That might be a source of the problem if he ate it.

Ty and I are sending lots of good vibes to Apollo. Sorry that I don't have any advice for you, but hope that he's all better real soon. Please let us know how everything works out.
