Hello all. I was wondering if anyone has tried this brand of raw dehydrated food-- http://www.happydogfood.com/products.htm

I bought a small bag of it from my vet and my new baby Lucy loves it. I recently switched her over to a BARF diet and she eats around the vegetables to get the meat. I even tried grinding it all together and she won't even touch it then. I asked my vet for suggestions and she told me to try this brand out. She has Boxers of her own and this is what she feeds hers. I gave it a shot and Lucy ate it all up and then picked up her bowl and brought it to me like she wanted some more, it was the first time she had ever done this--I thought it was the cutest thing. Anyways, I'm about to start buying this stuff in the bulk packages but I was wondering if anyone has heard of this brand or what you all think of dehydrated foods in general--are they OK?

Thanks and sorry for all the babble.

Hey Gary:

I haven't ordered from these folks--yet--but I did come across their website last week. I continue to be amazed at the number of these types of businesses that have opened up fairly recently.

I noticed these folks are in Aromas, CA., which is not too far from where I live. Glad to hear the food is working out well for your Lucy.

I'm off to their website......oh-oh....here I go again.

Thanks Gary,

Bob (and Ozzie).

Gary:

Have you ever considered being a salesman? (I'm assuming you're not one already).

I just placed a small order myself. What's intriguing to me about these dehydrated products is that it seems like it may be easier to deal with them than having to go through the "defrost" cycle with all the currently-available frozen products.

I'm looking forward to receiving my first order. Thanks for the tip!!

Bob (an ongoing sucker for nearly any type of processed BARF product)

Yes, you do still have to add the meat, it is a substitute for the vegetables only. I only started to use it because for some reason, Lucy won't eat fresh vegetables.
