Anyone Take the Last in Litter?

Just proposing a scenario for thought...Has anyone ever taken a pup that was the last left to go out of a litter? What did you think, or think about when considering? You can't see the littermates except for perhaps from photos.

If it is a reputable breeder who health tests, and you can see the parents, I say go for it.

I always like the ability to see puppy interaction within the siblings to see how the particular puppies react.

True. I would probably take my existing dog to meet them too, if it was ok with the breeders. I would think a very responsible breeder would actually want to see your existing dogs to see how you take care of them.

mine was the second to last.....and shes dadys little girl!!! such a spoiled brat :D

my friend got the last of the litter and everything turned out good.....

i dont really see where this matters though......but im a boxer newbie anyways.

Allie was the last of her litter... We were impressed with the breeder and the parents. We bought her, and We are SOOOOO glad that we did. She is an awesome dog. I feel lucky that noone else took her! I would take your current dog to meet a potential new puppy... we took Allie with us to pick out Tucker!

Technically, Beau was the last in his litter to go. The breeder's son kept him for a while and then at 9 months, he was given to me by the breeder. I have NO idea what any of his siblings looked like, where they are, how many were in the litter, etc. All I know is that I am very blessed to have Beau and I like to think that I would have picked him out of the litter as a puppy because he's so perfect for me.

My first Boxer was the runt female and she was the sweetest most loving dog.
We had her for 11 years. We now have the pick female of the litter and she is a nut case! Full of energy, and into everything. As long as you can see the parents and buy from a reputable breeder I say go for it!

One person's trash is another's treasure. Just because others didn't choose that particular dog, doesn't mean there's anything wrong with it. If the breeder is reputible and you like the dog, I say go for it!

When we got Sophie, there was only her and another female left....there were originally 7 pups but by the time we were able to travel up north there were only 2 left. I wonder sometimes why Sophie was one of them...she isn't a very outgoing pup so maybe that is why. She was too cute to leave behind and she had a sweet personality. A lot of people look for specific markings and that is why some are left behind. A lot of books I have read say that personality is more important and that is what we went off of. I am SO glad we took her too.
