Anyone supplement with Kelp?

I've been thinking of adding Kelp to the supplements I give Bentley. It's something I myself recently starting taking and thought it would be easy to add the pill in with his food as well since I have it already.

I know the health benefits are amazing, but I'm not sure if it's something a dogs 'needs' in their diet or if it's just overkill.

I plan on talking to my Vet about it before I start doing it, since I'm not sure if I can give him too much iodine with the supplement and affect his thyroid negatively... Last time his thyroid was checked it was normal.

I used to give Juno kelp, outwardly I didn't notice a difference which is why I stopped - but that doesn't mean it wasn't beneficial, though.

I would think you'd have to give a whole lot in order to send his thyroid into overdrive. I've only seen it advised against in cats who are hyperthyroid.

Really I think supplements are great
