Anyone located in the Dallas area?

I'm in for Sunday at 6:30.

Well the first night with Archer went pretty well. Good news is..he gets along great with Zoey!! Bad news is....he doesn't sleep AT ALL. I knew this before I adopted him, but I didn't realize that I would only get 2 hours of sleep..
Oh well, I guess I'll do a post on boxerworld and see if anyone has some suggestions.
I am going to upload some pictures to my gallery today, so check out my new little boy.

Hi Amy!

Glad everything is going well. When I bring a foster in, it can take them a couple of days to get used to our schedule, but they do in less than a week. I'd try and keep Archer awake as much as possible during the day (which Zoey will probably do for you - !) so that he'll konk out tonight.

Bedtime for the dogs around here is 930-10pm and fosters pick up on that pretty quickly.

I hope your right. Kim said he was like that with her the whole time she had him though. Oh well, we'll work through it. We didn't get any really good pictures last night (doggies wouldn't hold still long enough) I'll forward what I have though.

I honestly think it's because Archer has had so much "down" time due to his leg injury and his Heartworm treatment that he really hasn't been able to expend any of that boxer energy for almost 3 months! It's just been building up in there. LOL! I'm surprised he hasn't exploded from it!

I think what he needs is a steady routine and lots of exercise (though I'd not keep him out too much in the heat for a few more weeks).

I am so happy for Archer and Zoey and look forward to hearing all the updates and seeing some pictures!

I am up for going to the park in Allen on Sunday if ya'll would like to. Chrystel, you guys are more than welcome to ride with me if you want. I know you are kind of new to the area. We could me at our regular park or at my house (behind our regular park). Just a thought.

Amy - I hope all went well with Archer this evening. I'm happy that he found you guys as his forever home.

There are 11 more boxers in need today. Two days ago there were six that needed help and we recieved a lot of help from other rescues. Last night, six more needed us and this evening - five more. I don't have the euthanasia dates for these babies, but Legacy Boxer Rescue could REALLY use some help. If you are interested in volunteering - fostering or not, please let us know. Our beloved breed is in crisis in our area.

Legacy Boxer Rescue provides all vetting, food and crates for our foster families. Please please please let us know if you are interested in doing anything to help us save these innocent babies.

Broke News to Hubby

OK, I broke the news to hubby that Iwas now volunteering for a rescue........ yes, there was silence....... then the "I knew it would happen soon or later" ...... "remeber.... we only have so much room in this house...... and even though I know you tend to forget....... we the humans come first...... Yea yea, I hear him....ggggggggg He just doesn't understand how much room there is in my heart though!!!!
Congrats to Archer & Zoey!!!!!!! I am soo excited for you all. I will pray for Archer to become sleepy..... very sleepy. ggg yes, I pray for my dogs.... I know I have been told before I am dellusional when it comes to Kolby and Jake. So be it.... call me crazy, but there are ALWAYS hugs and kisses when ever I want them and then those few times I don't!! As for those that have met me.... please draw no conclusions yet........ggggg

Congrats Amy! I looked at the pictures. He is SO big! And cute! I am so glad Zoey likes him and vice versa. What a happy family. I so hope he starts sleeping though. Are you crating him? Does he cry or just wander around? What is he doing instead of sleeping? Playing! That is hard on you guys, I know. Maybe after a day at the dog park, he will sleep! (Or are you waiting to bring him out?)
