I'm not sure if we'll be able to make it this month. We have a family reunion in OK to go to and we are house hunting hard and heavy. Right now we are looking at a house in Crandall. That would put us an extra 20 minutes away from Connemara.:( , but Rowdy and Mattie would have even more room to roam on a fenced 1 acre lot.:)

J Wilkins . . . read your last post. Where did you get the poison ivy? Was it at the last "BB"? I'm sure you know that the dogs can actually brush up against it and carry it on their fur into the house, onto the furniture, you get it by just touching them. Jim and I both got a pretty good "batch" on our arms and legs after the last Boxer Bash in May. We are just getting over it.

The reason for my post is to share with you that our pharmacist had us get the new Cortaid Cream - Intensive Therapy. It has Hydrocortisone in it and it really works!! We are on our third tube, but we are just about clear. Usually we end up at the doctor for a shot, but this worked. Get it at Target - cheaper than the drug store or grocery store. Good Luck! Hubby says we probably won't go back out for awhile so you guys miss us and enjoy . . .

Cynthia,
Yes we got it our posion ivy at the boxer bash. This is the second time after being at the dog park. My husband's has almost cleared up but mine is just taking off. It is really bad on my feet and ankles and I know I am itching in my sleep. So can the dogs actually be affected by the posion ivy? I think Clubber has skin allergies so I hope it hasn't gotten a hold of him. I need to do a better job of looking out for the posion ivy next time we're out there. Thanks for the advice on Intensive Therapy Cortaid Cream. I have been using Iverest. If it doesn't clear up in a few days, I am going to the doctor. I hope you all will come out again!!

I think poison ivy is simply an allergy that most people have to that plant. I know some people who are immune to it. I got a little around my ankles also. Caladryl cleared it up after about a week. I don't know if dogs are affected by it or if they can spread it to us as carriers.

Thanks, Rowdy's dad for the info...I am so tired of itching my ankles but I bet it will get better in the next few days. Sorry to hear you also got it! I didn't see anything that looked like posion ivy on my dogs and they seem okay. Well, talk to ya soon...;)
