Cindy, yep your right, Niko has never ever in her 6 years gone into any water ... about 4 years ago, we had to push her in over the bank at the lake, and have my brother-in-law next to her, to show her it was ok to get in water!! She didn't move, she didn't paddle, she did nothing! So we took her out. She will run and bark at me if I ask her to come here and take a bath.. If I run bath water, she would come in and lick at it, but once she knows it is for her ... gone..

We spent the WHOLE day together .. can you believe that I went to watch LORD OF THE RINGS for 3 HOURS!! Sunday morning?? Popcorn, candies, and coke aaalllllllll to ourselves .. LOL .. so we didn't see much of the outside until about 3PM .. then I went out in the yard and planted my perennials .. hoping that I would have a FEW days of NO RAIN .. hum .. a week with out rain, no WAY! :)

Oh that must be it, no rain during the week... just on SATURDAYS!!

I am just about to die, I can't wait for our regular scheduled BB ... It better be rain free, and rain LOTS of Boxers!!

Hey guys! well we are officially back in town! we had a week in Breckenridge, Co to give us a break! Snowboarding!!! Anyhow our Rocky stayed with his girlfriend Roxy and had one heck of a time, i think he misses her. Clay,Chase, and of course ROCKY might try to go out to the bark park this saturday....weather permitting.....hope to see you out there!

Question....

Are bugs biting your babies and leaving bumps on their skin, since the rain it seemes like bugs are biting rocky and leaving bumps on his poor little body....just curious...

Yes, I think so! Niko is sooo covered in bites. She gets them aallllll the time.. Now she seems to have green eye buggers! I called the vet and they said to keep an eye on it, she has allergies really bad, and with all this rain, and junk washing in the air, who knows!

If things don't look so good in the next day, we're taking her in..

As far as the insect bites, you CAN give boxers Benedryl, like the 'dose' for their weight.. We give Niko 1 pink pill like what my hubby would take, of course it makes them sleepy as it would for any human, but lots of water, and let them sleep it off ..

HI . . . the flies are the usual culprit. Last spring/summer I bought some spray specifically for flies at the pet store and it seemed to help - especially if you were walking or going to be out at the park. Make double sure that you are using your heartworm medicine. We were not as good as we should have been with our first pair of boxers (we were living in Albuquerque and never saw any insects) but our sweet Ceasar did get heartworms and the medicine / treatment was horrible for him and very expensive. He was ok thought for another 8 years.

Let's face it - our Boxer Babies are soooo sweet that even the bugs want a bite!!

Hope to see everyone on Saturday. Maybe tonights storms will be the end of this nonsense !!!

Thanks guys, we took Rocky to the doctor today and got some medicine, he is also taking benedryl (1mg per pound) so hopefully he will be feeling better soon, Thank goodness he's not the only one, i thought my baby had the mumps the way those bugs got him! Hope to see you on saturday, OH, Check out the photos i put of Rocky in the members Gallery!! hes a cutie!

Guys, let me ask a question .. do you think in a few years, if you were to take your babies to see their 'parents' do you think that they would all remember each other? What about brothers and sisters?

I called Nikos breeders for the first time since we brought her home, to see how everyone was doing.. Can you believe that they are 9YRS OLD!! We talked for about 30 minutes, and she and I wanted to get together and let them see one another... So I was wondering if they would even remember each other.

Would be an awesome reunion....

Ok, so last nights storm was really bad .. and their saying another later today(wed) .. and then more on friday and saturday .. I sure hope that all of you are ok, and will be ok this week.. hope to hear from you all .. check in!

Did anyone get really bad weather last night? We are in north Tx and we got some but not as bad as the Dallas area it seems.
Well it looks like more is on the way.:( It's just that time of year.

rain? eh, wat's that?! kaiser and i braved the weather for a lil bit last nite and headed out there - we had a good time - for about thirty minutes - and the lightning started so we headed home.

we'll be out there tonite tho. this is becoming a daily thing, so everyday except thursday - i'll be out there he has waaay too much fun to have him stay inside :)

We will be out there around 7 on Friday if it doesn't rain, and maybe a little on Saturday, if Baseball games, and Soccer games dont conflict! Thanks for saying Rocky is a Cutie, he just loves his adoring fans!
