Brady is a vacuum while Abbie is a little more picky when it comes to her food. Things she shouldn't eat...that is a different story. I feed raw now so she eats her food but before raw I tried everything and couldn't find any kibble that she would eat except for purina dog chow. She would turn up her nose at the canidae, merrick, nutro, everything except the purina. I am thinking about going back to kibble because I can't find any meat here for a decent price. I am worried about her eating though, I am hoping she isn't as picky anymore.

Cooper too-

Cooper is very fussy. He will take a treat then spit it back out. It's like he wants to take it but doesn't want to eat it. At times I can actually hear his stomach growl, I lead him to his bowl and he looks at me like "OK, I know where the food is". I have discovered that if I get him started - maybe a little piece of chicken -with his food then he'll be better about the rest of his kibble. However he is not food motivated at all - he could care less.

I have one of each. Hannah is a vacuum - she will eat every piece of kibble put into her bowl. Samson is very, very picky. Many times, he will pick up a mouthful of food and drop pieces all over the kitchen floor. If I don't watch them carefully, Hannah will follow him all around the kitchen picking up every piece he drops. He has been picky since the day we brought him home at 9 weeks old. The best system I have found is to break Samson's meals into four different feedings a day.

Its official ECHO is a very picky girl! Yup, only eats when it has yogurt on it. Proved it today, hubby got his "baby girl" and "little man" their yogurt I put a blob on Carson inhaled it..don't think he noticed anything different but Echo saw the yogurt going on and ran to her bowl..inhaled it. Ummhummm picky brattty brat. Well little Miss Echo better realize where she lives! I hate shopping for food so if I run out of yogurt she jus might have to deal w/it for a few days! Hubby said after watching me boil and peel skin off chicken "are we having chicken for dinner (as IF i'd boil chicken for us..) told him it was for the babies he said "those kids eat better than your flesh and blood kids and I do" heehee...its true.

I also have one of each! Sasha takes forever to eat when she DOES choose to finish her bowl and has been known to blackmail her mommy into shredded cheese, chicken or whatever else i can think of to get her going! (She does have me trained very well!) I rarely take her food up...she is such a skinny thing, so i spoil her instead!
Telmar is a noisy, snorty vaccuum cleaner! He inhales his food, i truly don't believer he chews it at all! Its all over the floor after 10 seconds, but he has never missed 'cleaning up' a morsel of it!
Comes in handy when i spill in the kitchen!!

Casey is a very picky eater. Last week at puppy school Casey wouldn't do any of the things she had learned the week before. She wouldn't even "sit". She would just look at me. It was because I had some not so yummy treats and she knew that one of the instructors had cheese sticks. As soon as the cheese hit my hand....she became one of the worlds most intelligent puppies! She's also very picky when it comes to canned dog food. Not a big fan of most. She's a very slow eater too. It seems like the puppies in class that have the biggest appetites are the easiest to train.

Gracie was extremely picky as a puppy but nobody believes me if I say that now. She will eat anything now, quickly! She eats lettuce, carrots, oranges, bell peppers, even zucchinis when I grew too many in the garden last year. She eats tortilla chips, hot salsa...the list goes on.
Ty was much more picky--Gracie taught him to scarf his food as fast as possible within a week or two of his joining our family, but he wouldn't eat vegetables. More of a meat and potatoes dog.

Stella is extremely picky. We have spent more money than I care to think about finding her a kibble that she will eat. She has finally decided that chicken soup is ok but she wont eat like I would like her to unless it has a "gravy" of some sort on it. When it comes to treats she will only eat them if there is another dog around that might get them.

Donna, Millie was like that as a baby, I tried hand feeding her, but no way, the little madam still turned up her nose, even with her beloved cooked chicken...so knowing her love of my old mans bald head, (lick, lick, lick, like a giant lollipop!) ..I decided that he had to be the answer...Yeah, youve guessed it, I made him lie down, and put the chicken on his bonce, and whay hey!! it did the trick, SHE ATE!...mind you, it took me about three months to 'wean' her off his head and into a bowl!

I'm glad to read everyone's replies and know that Emma's not the only one who is picky and eats slow. All of my previous boxers and even Princess have been/are all vacuums, so Emma's a new experience for me when it comes to the food thing. I have tried many things, including hand feeding, but Britbox, I have to say that your story tops the chart as the most extreme that I have ever heard of.:) This was too cute (although I'm sure that you were the only one in the house that thought so at the time:)).
