Completely Boxer Crazy
I really must Video this and send it to one of those programmes like "you've been framed". It's a sight to behold and I just wonder if any one has a tiny Boxer which does this?.

Monty's sister is tiny, just 40 pounds to his 70. Her head is about half the size of his and most people when they see her run ask if she has any greyhound in her:D .

She has always done this but today she really excelled herself and it looked as if she was putting on a Ballet. It was a really frosty morning and by the time my sister and I got them both up to the fields they were really rareing to go. Sophie just put on a wonderful display, she runs and runs and then tucks her head under her legs and somersaults over and over again. Then when she comes up she leaps into a pirouette. I'm sure its because she is so tiny. Monty with his deep chest has no chance to compete. However his weight and powerful muscles mean that he can outstride her when they are racing, she can turn more quickly but in a straight run he catches her very quickly.

Has anyone else got one of these little boxers that do this or anything else that their larger siblings can't do?

Susie, my 60 lb. white girl can do some piroetteing. She often stands on her hind legs and prances around wanting a treat, or particularly a squirrel in some tree somewhere. Maggie hasn't mastered the turning circles on her hind legs yet.

As for somersaults, the only time I see that is when they are playing in the park and one will flip the other one up and over with her nose and head. Maggie particularly enjoys crouching down, and waiting for Susie to run full speed at her and then nosing her under the chest and causing Susie to fly up and over Maggie, landing usually on her side or on her feet. Scares me, but the dogs seem to really enjoy this game. Go figure.

You'll have to send a tape of your dog to America's Funniest Video. I'd love to see a boxer on one of those home vid shows.

My boy Finn, who is a big heavy boxer does perfect forward rolls, even in the show ring:o

Lilly who is a skinny boxer runs like a greyhound and does the pirouette thing and Portia our pup does this kind of dance where her legs look like they have no bones or too many joints

She also climbs trees!!!

Brighid (55 lbs.) does the pirouette when there are squirrels in the tree that she wants to play with. She also does a sideways jump about 3 feet in the air from a standstill when she wants to go outside. My favorite trick though was the time she was running around the tree in the back yard so fast (there was a squirrel) that she actually ran sideways on the brick wall. On one pass she ran too high and went over the wall and landed on the roof of the neighbor's garage (their yard was lower than ours). She was unhurt but a bit confused as to why she was over there and not under the tree :)

Nope mine aren't that graceful. When Roxy runs that it's reall pretty with long smooth strides and Canon is so bulky he looks like an elephant trying to run. They do plow in to each other making the other somersault.clowicon

Brutus will get racing around the living room and will go these spins 3 or 4 times in a row and then crouch down, tongue hanging out. He also jumps straight up in the air from a stand. I swear if I tried some of the acrobats he does, I would be in traction!! He's 75lbs and agile as a cat!!
