Yep!

My Two run amuck at play time....They are very much like Ram & Lexis.. UP and over the furniture, no table is sacred in my house.
The sofa just seems to be the pit stop area. One jumps up, pants and drools a second and over the back side to pounce on the other.

We stop this activity after it appears our furniture won't survive it.

Bella loves to chase Baxter's heels, Baxter trying his best to run in a crouching position all the while our Lhasa "Dusty" is chasing them both, Barking and egging them on.

While its entertaining to see them all play and interact, it can be quite loud. Dusty~barking & growling, Bella~Woo-wooing, Baxter's, evasion plans thwarted by Bella leaping over the sofa, nails digging into the carpeting to do that 180 that leaves Bella & Dusty in his wake.

The only time I have to step in and referee this "race to the finish" is when Baxter decides he is small enough to fit under the side table and send the lamp to it's death!

Never has anyone been hurt or mangled, but I bet my neighbors think I'm running a home for wayward pups with the ruckus that goes on here.

After 20 or so minutes of this activity they all settle down and nap together and become the angels they were born to be!

Boxer Buddy
My Boxer is lightly scarred up from his playing with his Rottweiler sister. But he loves it and runs figure eights around her to get her to chase him and sometimes it seems vicious but they stop if either gets upset.......his back legs are what gets the brunt of biting, but he has had some neck marks, as does she, albeit fewer since she has thicker fur there!

Completely Boxer Crazy
We have Gidget and Freckles(Rat Terrior). They play night and day. It's a great energy outlet and socialization. When one has enough they let the other one know. When all is quiet in the house we know they're just resting up for the next roundsmashicon. My husband can't take it but it does'nt bother me!Let them play, they know when to stop.Marcia

fiesta1ico I have read with interest , the replies to your call for info on housing more than one dog and "rough play" and agree with all. :p Let them be dogs and do the dog thing. They will only play as rough as their partners want (always the exception to the rule). Rough housing is a natural way to hone the old wild instincts of survival. On the ohter had to watch or listen to the play because accidents can (and do) happen and you must be on top of it as you are the Alpha leader. smashicon All that have replied seem to have dogs of the same size range as the boxer and should have no worries. My troup, on the other hand, are a wee bit different. The senior canines of the pack are Min Pins (Miniature Pinchers), two years old this January (littermates). These are wonderful, energetic, and enthuriastic rough housers in body and soul. They have no fear of anything on this planet. If an elephant were to wander onto their turff, the mins would immediately (and loudly) tell it exactly were it can go, how to get there and be most pleased to show them the way if able. This is put into effect with the St. Bernard up the road on a regular basis.

Now my boxer babe was instructed at a ver eary age (8 wks) as to whom ruled this roust and was welcomed with open paws. He has a great respect for the smaller dogs die to this early training and when they play now (he is 8 mos. and 57 lbs......they are 14 and 16 lbs a small dog with BIG DOG ATTITUDE) it is always under control. To watch him put those tiny legs into his mouth...
well the heart does skip a beat but never do I worry now as he is as gentle as he is big. To watch him crouched down on all fours with a small black spec under his mass...legs kicking and the "SOUNDS", at first glance you think "YIKES" but when you look closer you see he only used enough weight to keep his wiggling prey still for but a moment. foolicon It is quite amusing now but to my friends and some family members it is still somewhat unnerving. When the mins decide playtime is over...
it is just that, no questions asked. Even with the vast difference in size and the racket would make you think "fight to the death" and a quick one at that, but all that is going on is a great dog daze of the moment. All three curl up together in a crowded bed most of the time and the snoooorz can be defening.fiestaicon

So Don't Worry......I don't anymore....but do keep an eye or ear alert.....sit back and enjoy the fun if you have time. It can be very uplifting.lovicon

Super Boxer
I let mine go at it. I was a bit worried when George came home but he is the one who terrorizes!! Roxanne, such a little sweetie, takes as much as she can then puts him in his place. She will even make him stop if he is biting on me. She is really the rule enforcer!!
