Sue I'm back again. I've just re read your thread and I must have missed out the bits about boxer rescue. I've read lots about it here. Lots of boxer lovers on boxer world have taken on rejected lads and lasses. I didn't think we had such a problem here. You obviously know alot about it, I'd love to help if I can in any way.

Sue, is your Frank called after Frank Bruno. When I got Monty my dad wanted me to call him Henry after Henry Cooper. My daughter wanted to call him Jasper, but I won with Montgomery although he's Monty for short.

Hi Monty's Mum,

It seems to be quite a big problem with Boxer Rescue at the moment. They apparently have over 40 boxers to rehome. I'm not directly involved with it, my trainer is though, he rehomes in this area and I'm not sure about other areas.

Here are some Boxer Rescue sites on the internet

http://www.boxer-dog.co.uk
http://www.ukboxerdogs.co.uk

If you go to the second one there is a page of boxer rescue sites - the Essex one has a few pages of boxers needing homes, some with pictures.

I can't believe some of the stories as to why they are being rehomed. As I mentioned before some are nearing their last days. One women said their boxer jumped up too much and scratched the door. I just wish people would do research before taking on any breed. When we bought Georgie I was well aware that they are quite a boisterous breed, and I did some reading on them too. I love them because their full of bounce way past puppyhood.

Frank came with the name, and I presume the previous owners called him that because of Frank Bruno. I nickname him Mr Bean though, cos his like a beanbag and has a stupid Mr Bean face (doh).

If I hear of any boxers needing homes in your area I'll let you know, thanks for asking.

Regards
Sue

Hi Sue,
Glad to see someone is from England. I am form London, but have lived in Florida for the past 2 years. I am going back for a 3 week vacation in June. I will then see my lovely Frankie, an 11 year old brindle male whom I miss so much. Of course, I will see my kids too :)) Hope the weather is better by then !
Will look for your messages on the board.

Hi all, i am back again after a hectic few days (what's new!) The good news is that I have found 5 lovely homes for my babies. They have to go in two weeks time and already I am dreading it. One little boy is staying fairly local though ( about 7 miles) and it turns out that the son is in my eldest daughter's class at school so they will be able to keep in touch that way too. We are also having him back for a week in July when they are on holiday as I said he would be too young for kennels. ( I hate kennels as we had a bad experience with Gem but that's another story). Anyway any gossip I should know about?
Jo how's the sharpei puppy coming along?

Hi MsMom, hope you have a nice time when you come over. Unfortunately the weather has not changed yet, still very wet and cold. I'm hoping for some brighter weather soon because we're taking the dogs for their holiday in Devon.

Oh well, we're just have to buy some waterproof clothing, cos I know the dogs are going to love it no matter what the weather, although Frank does like rain much especially when he goes out the back for the loo but going for a walk in it is a different matter for some reason. He will avoid puddles and muddy patches though, he sort of freaks out wondering where to put his feet :D.

Regards
Sue

hi ali, is that all your pups gone now? I'm not sure if were getting the sharpei now as chance met her for the first time on tuesday and he was very rough and he pawed her over the head very hard and frightened her,so im worried that he may hurt her or kill her by accident.I know he doesnt mean to but i couldnt live with myself if he hurt her so we are now thinking of rescuing one but i don't wan't one that is very old, one about 4 or under we think but we have tried before and the lady at the rescue said she didnt have anything in.I'll keep you informed but in the mean time if anyone hears of a bitch needing a home or a dog if you think they will get on with mine please let me know.

Jo, How old is the sharpei now. If she is not very old your boy perhaps doesn't know what to make of her. Try to introduce them several more times and hopefully he will gradually get used to her. Also puppies grow very quickly so she will be holding her own with him very soon. I know mine have really shot up now. Yes they are all sold and are going in 2 weeks. We shall miss them dreadfully but they are hard work now!
Speak soon Ali
