We just switched to AzMira and are having good results and the dogs actually look forward to eating (which was never the case before.) We were feeding Eukanuba (which we thought was a good food). Since it seems to be a little confusing to determine whats is good kibble, just wondering if anyone else is having sucess with AzMira--- or any bad experiences?

Azmira is a very good food and consistently makes the Whole Dog Journal list of premium kibbles. It's definitely a giant step up from Eukanuba and much better for your pups. Azmira is based in Tucson so you should never have trouble finding it :) If Maizie and Jackson are enjoying the Azmira and it agrees with them than you're good to go. You might try alternating between protein sources so they don't get bored and they benefit from the rotation (finish one bag of classic and then try lamb next time, for example.)

I think it's a reasonably good food, but could use a little bit more meat in it. It only has one meat source - and although that is the first ingredient, it still seems to be rather high in grains.

It is on the WDJ list - but I don't think that is an annual assessment, but a once-only one (isn't it?). There are some foods on the WDJ that might not meet their current assessment criteria, but met the criteria in use at the time they were assessed (dog food isn't a static science, it's a continually evolving one ;) and in any case, all foods on that list are not equal. There are several foods around now that have four or five meat ingredients in them, wheras five years ago that would have been a miracle). Azmira is still a good food and by no means the lowest quality on that list, but at the same time there are many better ones now available that contain a lot more meat.
