Anyone feed the "Pre-Made Barf" food?

Going away from Pre-made

I started Barfing Luke at the beginning of Dec. I was giving him a chicken carcass and the pre-made chick & veggie. I didn't actually realize how expensive it was till today :eek:
Just last week we picked up a case for $50 and he is almost gone thru it all. I've started giving him non-medicated chick wings from the meat packers and have decided to do my own BARF. Its just too expensive ! BF got me a nice Cuisinart food processor too! I have ordered Barf Diet book and now
I'm very excited. I can actually have more control what I put in the food.

I use a lot of the pre-made stuff, mostly Bravo brand. I would say my dog gets about half "homemade" and half premade. Usually his breakfast is the premade stuff, because I'm still afraid to feed him bones in the morning and then leave for work right after, in the event that he had some sort of trouble or got sick. From my dog's perspective, I don't see any difference - his bowl is just as clean and shiny no matter what was in it (as long as it wasn't kibble!)

I tried some of the pre-made stuff and it is just too expensive. I have had really great luck going to the grocery store EARLY in the morning and lots of the meat is marked reduced for quick sale. I hav been able to find a lot of stuff for my pups. I have all tile and wood floors, but we still use a table cloth (I bought some cheap holiday ones at 50% off recently). We rinse them off with the hose and set it out to dry ready for the next use.

My freezer is in my garage, but at my last house it was in the dining room because that is was the only space available. Hey if it works....!
