anyone ever have there boxer get out of there crate unsupervised??

just wondering my pup is only 8 weeks old but i was sitting here wondering what she is doing and i wonder how many boxers have excapted from there crate while no one was home.

Buster was an escape artist. We had a standard metal crate, and somehow he figured out how to pull the top of the crate in with his teeth and literally unlatch the hinges from the door. I'm surprised he never broke his teeth. He always hated the crate and has a bad case of seperation anxiety. Needless to say, we didn't use the crate for long! Hopefully, your pup will be okay in there. Most of them do pretty good in crates. That is there little safe place. I'm sure she'll be just fine.

When Vinnie was 4 months old, he was Houdini! We would come home and here he would come around the corner Woo Wooing! I don't know how he squeezed his body out throught the door when it was latched! At least he didn't potty or do anything bad. All we could do was laugh Since we brought Jasmine home, he has not tried to get out. I know he had separation anxiety. Little stinker.

destructo pup

My 4 month old pup escaped one day 2 weeks ago. I came home to find a nice present on the floor and a slipper on the couch. I was in a hurry so I gathered up the pup and off to agility class we went.

It wasn't til I got home later on that I discovered she had pulled down my home theatre system and it put a hole in my wall !!! I am assuming she ran behind the TV chasing the cats.

But after an hour of disecting the dvd player, I got everything working again. But I felt better knowing that it was probably an accident (not proven yet ;-) than having her destory something on purpose (such as chewing on the leather sofa).

Now all I have to do is get hubby to fix the hole and repaint the wall.

haha...my mothers male brindle was forever escaping his crate and no one could figure out how! The crate started off on one side of the room and would be found upon return on the other side of the room or a few times...in another room!! Mom would put extra clips on the doors of the crate, but that didn't work either! Eventually, she turned to bungee cords and would wrap 2 of them around the crate and that definately held him in, but it didn't stop him from "rocking" the crate around the room!! I always tried to get mom to set up her video camera so we could see him in action, because I was curious too. I also said that Sheba, who had free roam of the house, was his partner in crime and helped him escape! :D

Rocky has never escaped from his crate (now 7 months old). Also, ther is one room of our apartment that he in not allowed in. There is a baby gate in front of it, not attached to the wall or anything just leaning against it, where he could easily push past it, but he never does. It is now that if I am in that room and the gate is moved, he will not even come in than. just sits by the door and watches what I am doing.

My Koda escaped from his crate a few times. I came home to my pup just sitting there looking at me! ! He hated his crate too and would pee in it. I didn't eliminate the crate just b/c he could get out of it. I did it when he was older and I knew I could trust him, plus I was tired of always cleaning his crate! ! Good luck!

Niko use to do escape and we couldnt figure out how until we realised he was watching us only lock the top latch of the crate so as soon ass we walked away he wouls squeeze through the opening. once we got wise to him we started locking both latches, to this day once we latch it he immediatly tries to squeeze through not realizing we latched both locks.....


he ends up looking really confused

Mya escaped once. It was my fault for not locking the door, but she pulled the blanket that was covering her crate through the door bars and lifted it up and out she went! Luckily we caught her right away and no damage other than a puddle was found!
