Any suggestion??

My Thor broke his right front leg yesterday in the yard..how he did it is beyond me,but..the damage is done. I took him to the vet right away and after the x rays I was told he needs surgery. $3,500 was the estimate I received. It's tough to come up with that amount of cash so unexpected so I was just wondering if anyone has any suggestions or recommendations of vets out here in Long Island NY that might help my guy out for a little less?

Have you asked the vet if they will do a payment plan so you can pay it off over time?

Most vets do have something like this in place, especially if you go their normally.

Might be worth asking. I wouldnt put off having that leg set though, poor baby must be in huge pain.

Poor Thor, is he not insured then? Like Boxer babies said I'd ask if you can do it on a payment plan.

I would look into the payment plan option also. Is this an emergency vet or your normal vet? You really don't want to wait to have the surgery done,but a second opinion may be a good thing to look in to. Since you are in New York,you may want to call the ASPCA there and ask if they have grants available or can suggest a vet. Good luck.
