Any puppy friendly boxers in OC, CA?? Wanna Play??

Hi again! Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I looked into parks in Fullerton but there really weren't any that were fenced in where they could play, and I have tried to have him play with his leash on before...it doesn't work very well hehe. I was lost the other night with my husband trying to find the block in orange and ended up on the 57...and realized, hey this isn't as far away as I thought it would be I'd love to get them together & play at your mom's house. Seriously, he has a ton of energy. I have taken him to doggy Daycare a couple times (it was required to have him stay there in order to reserve a boarding spot for Christmas). They kept him in the Tiny Tot room, so he does socialize well with dogs but so far he hasn't played with the big dogs yet (haha pun). He might be nervous at first, but once he warms up I am sure he will be romping around in no time. So just let me know if you are still up for it, and if you are which day of the week is best for you. I am willing to drive up. The next 2 weeks I have Monday, Thursday or Sunday available.

Sunday 10am sounds great!!! :D I am excited!!! My email address is on the home page of Charlie's website if you'd like to email me where you'd like me to drive to. He's never played with a boxer before (except his siblings when he was at the breeders) so he hasn't ever met someone with his own energy & playing style or breed. Can't wait!

Irvine Park Oct 22 or 23rd?

Thank you so much Patrick! We should get together in a few weeks. Unfortunately today we went to the vet because he had a stuffy nose & was hacking & found out that Charlie contracted Kennel Cough (it was in the beginning stages...no fever yet). :( He's on antibiotics, and was told he'd be fine to play again after 2 weeks. He is done with his antibiotics in 15 days so I am going to wait until then before he leaves the house. October 14th is the go day. I met another boxer named Conner who lives in Lake Forest too, plus Jade lives pretty close & there is another boxer named Roxy that lives in Laguna. Maybe we can plan a bash later this month? He gets his final vaccinations on October 18th which means he can go to the Dog Park for the first time.

Is anyone up for the 22nd or 23rd of October? Have you been to the Irvine Dog Park? I heard it is really nice...I have driven past it but haven't really checked it out yet. Any suggestions?

Sorry it's so far from now, just want to make sure nobody gets his cold.

Sorry to hear about Charlie...he will get over the kennel cough in no time and be able to play. : ) The calendar is open for 10/22 or 10/23. Looking forward to meeting other boxer owners.

It is passed from dog to dog.

I know that dog flu is so scary! luckily Charlie didn't have a fever or anything drastic. His antibiotics kicked in right away for the KC to get rid of the congestion. We probably shouldn't meet at a dog park at this point until they find a vaccine. It's such a no win situation because Charlie needs social interaction, but we don't have a yard. We know a place with a green belt near us (my mother in law lives there) but it's not fenced...the benefit is that it is probably completely safe to play there since not many dogs go there.

I just bought insurance for Charlie so if he does get sick we won't be afraid to just take him to the doctors immediately. I am waiting until he has all of his shots before we do any play dates. He still needs play time eventually & I can't be forever in fear of the flu, so I will just have to keep my fingers crossed that he doesn't come across someone with the flu....and hopefully I won't either (the human kind)

I'll be praying that the vaccine is discovered soon...for everone's sake.
