I have a male that is 14 months and was always in the crate and did a great job always.

then we got maggie and now is 12 months. never has had a good day in the crate ever. she would always do both jobs in her crate and make a huge mess. i then decided 6 months ago to stay home and work so now they have not been in their crates for 6 months. if i leave it is no more than 5 hours and they do really good.
but i am going back to work outside the home and i lost on what to do with them. i am afraid Maggie will again make a mess. i dont know why she does it the vet thinks it is an anxiety issue.

do you think it would help if i made there kennels all one large kennel. thinking maybe she would be better if she could be with the Moser.
they lay together on the loveseat every morning.

any other options?

I thought I saw somewhere that someone made a large crate for thier two babies. I will try to look for it.

You said they do good being outside thier crate? Can you start leaving them outside thier crate for a few minutes at a time to see how they will do? Then try leaving them for 45 minutes, an hour and so on....

Or try gating them in a tiled area together with thier crates in there.

Good luck

ugh...

So i left them in their double crates for 30 min is all and she did both jobs. and her poop was runny which makes me sense stress. i am going to just have to try and keep them in the kitchen and living room where there crates are and see how it goes.
at this point i dont feel i have any other options. i am working now where i have a commute but am moving soon so then i will be able to come home on my lunch hour to let them out for a little bit. it is just going to have to be a stressful few months is all until then.
thanks for the suggestions.
if anyone else has anything i am open for anything

Delilah has seperation anxiety and would poop and pee in her crate. She also broke down all the gates I tried to put up to keep her in the kitchen. I finally figured out that she doesn't mind being tied up- so I keep her on a 6' leash tied to a cabinet or shut in the dishwasher door, in the kitchen. She is in a corner where she can't get tangled up in anything like table legs.
For some reason she doesn't mind the leash, but would go nuts if left behind a barrier like a gate or crate :/
Maybe this will work for you, and you can crate your boy close to her.
I have read that crating dogs together is a bad idea- if they get into a tiff or a fight, they will have no way to escape each other.
