Is there anyone else here who not only enjoys boxers, but also loves horses? I have 2 boxer boys and a 2 year old buckskin Appendix Quarter Horse. They are my babies!
I would love to hear about anyone else's horses.

I don't currently own any but I live a walk away from my dad's place and he has 8 including 3 new foals this year. I used to show in the Paint Horse circuit when I was younger but haven't really done much with horses in quite a while due to $$ and time. Never enough time!!

we actually have 4 horses and a jackass in our pasture they actually arent ours but we treat them like they are. the people down the street asked us if they could keep them in our pasture bc its bigger. they are so sweet and they love maverick. maverick wants those big horses to play with him so bad he cant stand it.

Did someone say horses??? I'm a horse nut, too. I can't wait until I can have one. Until then, I'm stuck begging my cousin to let me ride hers. I had one as a child and I've wanted another ever since. I don't even have to ride them (even though I do LOVE riding). I just love being around them. When my cousin was taking lessons, I loved going to the barn and seeing all the horses sticking their noses out of their stalls to be rubbed. They're just so darn beautiful!

HORSES....Love them. I started riding when I was 3yrs old. My father was in the rodeo, I was in the rodeo and I hope one day when I have kids they will to be able to do it. I started to compete when I was 5yrs. I tell everyone it was the best sport ever. You have so much more responsibility then any other sport. You have not only yourself to teach and learn but you have an animal that if you are not in toon with you will not (most likely) do well. I am so glad my father got me into horses. I could not think of life with out them. I sure do miss the rodeo days. I was always a roper (not much for a barrel racer) and after school there is not much a girl roper can do, but maybe a jack pot rodeo here and there. When I drive down the road and I see a horse trailer it just brings back some wonderful memories. See I am going on and on right now. So yes there are other Boxer and Horse lovers on here. God this place is great :)

Lots of horsin' around here too! I have a unique clyde x appaloosa gelding named Sam. He's been with me for about 10 years and I love him to bits! I have had horses / been riding for over 25 years. Now, I ride mainly for pleasure, but I can't resist the odd jump and a bit of dressage now and again. My daughter is a horse nut too (didn't fall far from the tree), so its a great thing we do together. I'm happy to see other horse crazy boxer lovers out there!

I am horse crazy!! We are planning on getting property once we sell this house in a few years. Or get one and board if I can find a good place nearby until we get our land. I started riding when I was tiny, and have had an Appendix, Arabians, a Morgan, and an Appendix/Mustang. I go through horse withdrawal constantly and cannot wait to have another!! :)

I started riding lessons when I was 12. Not long after I graduated College I got my first horse. He is a thoroughbred gelding named Clover. He was bred and broke as a race horse but never made it to the track. He was given to a friend of mine when he was 2 and I baught him from her. He had very little done with him until I got him. He was 5 (almost 6) at the time and is about 8 now. I really don't show much but when I do I enjoy doing low level eventing and am hoping to get to an event or two this year. I did hunters when I was younger but really don't enjoy that (too many snobs-no offense to anyone that still does hunters). Clover loves to jump. He is a pritty good mover and can get okay dressage scores at the novice level, but he is definatly a jumper! I rode yesterday morning because I had the day off from work. It was really hot outside and he was a little lazy on the flat (for a thoroughbred anyway), but you head him toward a jump and he comes alive!!

WOW! LOL! Such a great response! I really didn't think that there would be too many of you, but I'm so excited to see there are boxer/horse lovers other then me out there. :)
Each of your stories were wonderful and I enjoyed hearing each of them. I could go on and on forever on this subject... but I won't (since I'm at work and have limited chat time).
Are we allowed to post pictures in this forum? I would love to see some of your horses if we can!
