any Michigan events?

If anyone knows of any meets or events in Michigan I'd love to know about it.

We live in Oakland County so if anyone hears of anything please let me know, as of right now I can't even find a dog park to go to, people look at me as if I am speaking in foreign language when I ask if there are any.

On August 18th in Brighton there will be a "Boxer Bash." It is hosted by the Mid-Michigan Boxer Rescue. This will be our first year going, but it sounds like tons of fun. If you go to their website, www.midmichiganboxerrescue.org you can find details of the event and even sign up to be there. I am sure they will be posting a thread about it soon on here also because they are members of BW.

I think that's the same one I was going to go to in 2005 and then we ended up moving the same time. Do you think 11 weeks is to young for Bandit to go? I would think all or most of the people there would be responsible enough to have healthy updated dogs there.

I think it should be ok. I would check with your vet though and make sure she has all the shots she can by that time. Really though, I am sure that you will probably be carrying her most of the time anyway (if I remember how Roscoe was at 11 weeks) and should be able to keep her from harm. I think it will be a really fun time. I know they will have all sorts of activities and boxer stuff there, they even do a king and queen of the bash. All the money goes to the rescue group that puts it on, so it is a good cause too. It's where we adopted Blayne from. I am really excited to go!

Hello, I am from Clinton County and cant attend the boxer bash :( but I do know there is a huge dog park opening in the Lansing area very soon (I know that is rather far away from Oakland county). It is going to be around 17 acres I guess. Here is the website for anyone who is curious:

Yes there is! I am so excited as it is only a few minutes from my house! Clinton County, huh? Not too far from me, I'm right in Lansing! Maybe we could set up a play date sometime soon? I have a fenced in backyard that the dogs could play in.

I actually am from DeWitt! So that is very close and I also work in Lansing and attend MSU so I am out your way often. I would absolutely love to get the dogs together sometime!

I live right by Frandor, between Michigan Ave and Saginaw. I am usually available any weeknight after 5pm. Do you just have one baby? How is she with other dogs? I have a male (8months) and a female (approx 1 year) that usually get along great with other dogs. Our backyard is all fenced in, not really big, but big enough for them to do plenty of boxer burns.

She is wonderful and so happy when she is with other dogs, shes usually the follower/submissive one of the group - definitely not a dominant personality so I cant imagine a problem (and she is fixed). And yes, I only have one :(

Right now I am available on weekends as well, just let me know a time/place and Ill be there with my girl!

Hey Roscoesmommy.......I figured I should reply in the correct place to not break any rules. Anyways, I am hoping to be able to go. I really really really want to. But, I am going to be renting out a room in my house and I think that weekend might be when the tenant moves in......not positive yet.....but if it is, then I need to be home for when she moves in. Hopefully I can manage to do both......we shall see......if I am able to, we will have to somehow figure out how to find each other!
