My mum would love to have a dog but she is unable to walk very far, does anyone have idea's on a suitable small/medium breed of dog? :)

A pug may be a good idea, indeed. They play pretty well with boxers too, if you're inclined to take yours to visit.

Thankyou, though I know she is not a fan of the boxer type face, she prefers something a little more pretty if you know what I mean! I thought I'd ask here as I am hopeless thinking of breed names, or perhaps there may be a book I could buy for her to look at :)

My MIL has a Bichon Frise, very pretty and needs alot of grooming. This dog does not walk far and is trained to go the toilet in a cat litter tray when they are in their apartment. Otherwise she goes in the garden when they are at their house.

To me it looks like a sheep. Not my type of dog. My hubby would not be seen dead walking it LOL.

We have 2 shihtzus, besides Payton, and my little male would be carried around all day in your arms if he could. He is definately a "lap dog".
I think the only down side with them is the grooming aspect. $50.00 every 6 weeks. (thats for 2 dogs) but on the upside to that is THEY DON"T SHED!!!
Both of ours are very well potty trained too- check out my gallery if you want to take a peek- they're sure cute! (and they get along very well with Pay!)

My friend got her elderly MIL a Cavelier king charles pup. It was the breed the vet reccomended/ I thought she sounded to infirmed for a pup. Her eye sight is gone, diebetic but she is doing great with the puppy.
