Maisie Lynn

Boxer Buddy
I had the day off today and I had no energy so I laid down on the couch for a bit. Maisie came over for some attention and I told her that I was going to take a little nap and then I'd take her out for a walk. Her eyes got big, her head tilted to the side and her ears went up everytime I said walk. About a half hour later she came up onto the couch and squeezed her way in between the couch and I. The next thing I knew she was pushing me with her paws until I fell off the couch! It was really funny! By then it was pooring rain outside so we played some in door games that included treats.

That is so cute how clever our furbabies can be. I tried the bell training with Oscar for housetraining and all he used it for was for attention. The funny part is that my other dog was trained by him ringing it meant it was time to go outside, she would wake up from a dead sleep knowing it was time to go outside. This is how ingenious he is, he has tags on his collar and when he wants to go out in the morning he shakes his head to wake me up. I guess he found his own portable bell. One morning I was pretty tired so I ignored him and tried to go back to sleep, he got so annoyed he shook his head for a whole minute to wake me back up and he was so dizzy from it he fell down. Aren't boxers comical.

They are sooooo funny! For the past 3 nights, I have awakened in the middle of the night freezing b/c Violet has stolen the comforter off my bed. I find her on the floor curled up in it. I dont have the heart to take it away, so, I get the throw from the couch... I still freeze, but at least Violet is warm and cozy. LOL! I think its time to get a real dog bed. I haven't gotten one yet b/c shes not housetrained and I didnt want her to potty on it. But now its obvious that she needs one!

heeheehee..Gracie has a stuffed goose that sounds exactly like a goose when squeeked, it looks like a canadian goose, and she loves it! whenever she is upset, out comes the goose...when she is happy, out comes the goose...when she is sleepy, the goose....

well, when we drove to the dogpark yesterday we have had to pass by one of the ponds and all the geese were out and crossing the road, etc--honking of course as they do and Gracie was amazed! Her eyes got HUGE and she froze, she had her little head poked out the window and her nub spinning like a propeller! Then she looked at me with this expression of sheer amazement! We had to pull over so she could watch/listen to them for a few minutes! The look on her face was hysterical--a cross between pure bliss (more "gooses" mommy!) and utter confusion/amazement! heeheee!

Harmonizing with a flute!

13 month old Babe croons when my husband plays his flute. She does not do this in response to any other music, including recorded flute music, or including a piano...However she comes running from the yard if she hears him. She sits at his feet and really tries to hit the same note. Im going to submit to some funny pet video show. It brings tears of laughter to anyone who watches :)

The other day, I was in here (literally, typing) and I heard a commotion from the den. My daughter (who is 2) was jumping up and down and shreiking and giggling, and I could here the dog tearing around, and I thought "Oh no! Abigail is scaring the dog again!" (we've only had Mattie about 2 weeks and there has been some "sibling rivalry"). I hurried in there, and what do I see? Abigail is shreiking and jumping, and Mattie is doing her "play with me" bow and jumping with her tail about to wiggle off. Then Mattie takes off running with Abigail in hot pursuit, and then the other way around (which worried me a little until it became apparent that Mattie really was just letting Abigail have her turn, and would rather be chased!) and then the jumping started again and it started all over! Here I had been worried about them not being able to play together until Abigail was older, and how to handle the jealosy, and they are quickly working it out all by themselves! They seem to get along better now that Mattie is beginning to understand she has to mind Abigail, and Abigail is understanding how to get Mattie to mind! (Today it included the toy vacuum-I didn't let that go on long- they were both getting too wound up!)

That is sooo sweet! I am happy to hear that Mattie and Abigail are becoming such good friends! How wonderful for Abigail to get to grow up with a boxer pal! :)

Precious will start rolling over (at our feet) on her own when she wants a treat! She's learned that rolling over is a good thing haha!
