Another New Member

Just wanted to poke my head in and say hello to everyone! Im Gina from Tampabay, Florida. Im a new member of Boxerworld and a new mommy to a 10 week old Boxer boy. He hasnt officially been named yet but Im pushing the name "Maximus". I think its rather regal and manly..... what do you think?

I do have a really quick question too.... "Max" hasnt taken a single sip of water since we've brought him home this morning nor has he eaten. Is this just separation anxiety or should I be concerned??

Welcome to Boxerworld. I think Maximus is a great name!

Not seperation anxiety, but he is probably just too wrapped up in exploring his new surroundings. Just make sure you keep your eye on him, and that there is plenty of clean water available to him.

I'm sure I will have plenty of dopey first time mom questions for everyone!! Im also hoping to be able to share lots of great stories!

I did figure out why "Max" wasnt eating or drinking! He has a fear of stainless steel!! LOL!!! I guess the shiney metal offended him! I put his food and water in some ceramic bowls and he chowed down and drank some water finally!! *WHEW* Thanks for the pep-talk guys...

Welcome and the bowl thing .. think about it like this how would you like eating out of a bowl where you could see another dog trying to bite you each time you reached in.. Abigail has stainless steal bowls she will get a mouth full back up from the bowl and eat that then get another mouth full... the water bowl doesn't brother her .. this is a great site I've enjoyed it for a while now lots of great info.. enjoy
