Another New Member

Hi to all of you in Boxerworld:D
My name is Michelle, I'm married (almost twenty years) and have two children, ages 15 (girl) and 12 (boy). I just happened to find Boxerworld on the internet a couple of days ago. I'm sad to say that I was cruising the internet trying to find info that might help me make some very important decisions about our beloved boxer, Chewbacca. His biopsy report came back positive for cancer. The hardest part about this is that he's only 7 years old and my son is just brokenhearted and we are all sad beyond belief.

:( We just want to do what is best for Chewie. We have enormous respect for this dog and want to do what is right for him. It is all much harder than I thought this could be. The last couple of days the only true joy I've felt is when Chewie kidney beaned me and "wood" me
Well, I thought that people on this site would have any easier time understanding all of this. I know I'm still trying to figure all this out:confused:

Michelle, such sad news, give Chewy as hug. A lot of us have been there and its not easy but you have to do whats best for Chewy. May you find comfort in knowing that we all feel for you and Chewy. Will say and prayer and light a candle.

How nice it is to have reached out and heard back from so many boxer "friends." I can't tell you (but you probably do know) how good it felt to get all your responses. It's times like these when you need to know you are not alone:p
I actually spoke yesterday with the breeder I bought Chewy from. We had a nice long chat on the phone and I felt so much better afterward:rolleyes: She may be having another litter in March, which may be a perfect time for us! Life is forever evolving. You just half to roll along sometimes.
Chewy is feeling pretty good today. He "caught" an avocado from the tree on our property and played keep away for an hour. SO funny:p This is how his coat stays so shiny and how he stays pleasantly plump (the vet isn't happy about Chewy's unlimited access to the avocados, but what can we do?) I say, "Let the dog live it up!"Chewy has been such a joy in our lives!
