Annoying neighborhood kid

Absolutely talk to the parents... gently.

Simply mention to the parents the child has been hanging around your yard, and seems interested in your dog(s). The kid likely doesn't know he's tormenting the dogs but he should stop, because some dog(s) aren't as friendly as yours and he may get hurt.

If that doesn't work... hose the little bugger!

My previous dog was the sweetest and the kids in our alley would throw rocks at him. Because I couldn't figure out where they were from, I couldn't talk to the parents. Eventually he got mean towards kids and ended up biting my friend's daughter. She loved dogs and wanted nothing more than to play with him. He could have hurt her much worse than he did, but she was still very afraid and upset. It is very difficult to train a dog to not have issues with children if they already do. But also remember that these people love their child as much as you love your Boxer and they may be very defensive. Handle them with kid gloves and they will probably be more receptive.

Oh God, I would be so pissed if I caught someone throwing rocks at my babies. When I get mad, I get goosbumps, and something deep inside me wants to just unleash my anger through my mouth. I got that feeling when I read that about your poor dog.
My poor sweet neighbors, we have no fence, and my dogs go out to go potty, we live out in the country, and I know I probably should leash them to go out, but anyways, the neighbors are so nice, and understanding because Frankie thinks its his yard (we share a "road" aka driveway with the neighbors) and they just stand their until Frankie realizes they are meant to be there....lol

Definitely talk to the parents !!!!

I agree w/ everyone else PLEASE go talk to the parents. I would be furious myself about a child teasing my dogs not to mention god forbid the dogs got tired of the teasing & nipped at him then you have real trouble on your hands. I really like The YoYo Man's idea LOL. But really talk to the parents cause that little boy deserves a good pop in the butt, he should know better than that!!!

Exactly how I would approach it. Say that you don't think he is intentionally teasing your dog but if he does this to the wrong dog, he could be in serious trouble.

PLEASE talk to this kids parents. My neighbor across the road(as well as my self) live on a corner lot so kids are always walking next to the fences. If I am on the other side of the house and the babies are out back, kids will bark at them and try comming up to the fence and actually try punching them through the fence. I said a few things and it fell on deaf ears. Gary came out one time, yelled at the kids and said he was going to their parents if they didnt stop. It hasnt happened since and I have found where each one lives and if it does, Im storming over there to every house. My neighbor had a boxer/pit mix that had to be put to sleep because kids teasing her, well she had enough and suddenly jerk away from my neighbor while out walking one day. She bit and seriously hurt one of the kids and the city said she was to be put to sleep. Please do something before it goes too far.

Sorry about rambling but I have seen first hand what will happen if nothing is done.

Talk to the parents! Gently but firmly let them know that you are there not only for the safety of your dog, but their child as well. An excited boxer could very well clear a fence and pounce unintentionally causing harm.

As a parent I would definitely want to know.

It's unanimous. You have to talk to the parents.

When we moved into the complex that we are in Ikaika was 6 months. He was always friendly and never barked out the window. Then, a man moved in above us and had his kids stay with him (one bedroom studio apartment by the way, maybe 500 sq ft.) and they would come downstairs past my window and knock on the door and window to tease my baby. I didn't realize it was going on at first, Ikaika all of a sudden started to bark at these kids and getting aggitated.

I was home one day (car in shop) and I saw and heard them. That was it. First I told their dad and I told the apartment complex that if it didn't stop I was not going to be responsible for damage to the windows or these snot nose kids.

In trying to keep from anyone getting hurt I exposed the man for having his kids in such a small apartment. Soon after, I didn't see them anymore around there.

It is best that you nip this in the bud before someone gets hurt (mainly the kid). If the parents are not receptive (because some say .... "oh no not my child") I would inform the police or sheriff's office just incase something does happen and Cami gets out and knocks him to the ground. Maybe tape the conversation between you and his parents (in order to prove you tried to resolve the situation).

Sorry so long :(

I say go talk to the parents.....I know I would. If it were your "kid" bothering someone you can betcha they would be on your doorstep with the old..."your dog this or that".
Again...another reason why my children have 4 legs and fur!!~! :)

I have been to the house on two different occasions and still no one answers the door. Last night my very first trick-or-treater was......you guessed it! The little boy that I am having issues with. He was alone so I didn't say anything to him, just gave him his candy and he went about his way. I didn't want to say anything more to him directly so that he had any ammo to use against me when I spoke to the parents.

I will go again this evening and see if they are home If not then I will continue going until I can make contact. Thanks everyone for the advice. I will posts with results when I have them.
