I just need to vent!!!

We were walking the pups last night and met up with a neighbor who is normally outspoken. He said this about our new rescue, Haylee...

"What? Were they out of cute ones? That dog is so ugly!"

I was so mad! Poor Haylee was trying so hard to get over to him to give him kisses and that's all he can say about her????? And he's nothing to look at himself! Stupid people.

I would never, ever tell someone their dog was ugly. That's like telling someone their kid looks bad or something. It just really hurt my feelings and I felt so bad for Haylee. I know she couldn't understand what he was saying, but I took it personally (for her!).

The rudeness/ignorance of some people just simply amazes me....

My new response, I've decided, in moments like these will be to put on an innocently shocked look and say "oh my! that was rude!" in my nicest voice (as if I am completely "surprised") and turn and walk away...leave them standing there feeling stupid with their mouth hanging open for a change! ;)

some people are just stupid and rude as you have seen, but we know better that your baby isnt ugly he was probably jealous of how beautiful she is.

I have been told the same thing when Vegas was 10-11 weeks old.

There was a man that used to freelance at my DH's work, I never really liked him as he was arrogant and thought he was the greatest man around. Vegas goes to work with Dh everyday. One day I came to pick them up one and while waiting for Dh I was playing with Vegas.

The man was watching us play then says "that's an ugly puppy, how could you think hes cute?"

I was so shocked and take back. I already didn't like this guy so I snapped back "well your ugly too". I couldn't beleive that I said it because I am not that blunt but it just came out. It shut him up and he just walked away. I have not spoke to him since (this was almost 4 years ago) and I am sure he knows I don't like him now.

Its one thing to think a puppy is ugly but you have to be a pretty miserable person to comment directly to an owner about it.

My Mom is ALWAYS saying how the pups (she said it about Blizzy too) are SO UGLY they are cute..ugghh. And that they have faces "only a Mother could love". She finds my babies homely and not attractive at all..ohh well, maybe beauty is in the eye of the beholder but I find my babies (and my Blizzy) beautiful outside and beautiful souls inside :)

I have a friend that I showed the Easter Bunny pictures to, she wrinkled up her nose, made a face and said, those are two of the UGLIEST dogs I have ever seen and that White THING looks EVIL!

I was so bent out of shape. (mind you her looks leave A LOT to be desired!! :LOL:) I couldn't even utter a sound knowing if I opened my mouth, there'd be trouble. How can two puppies (any breed) look EVIL??!! And the picture I showed her was with the two of them licking their noses at the same time..tell me do these pups look like the ugliest you've ever seen or evil?

Donna, those two puppies are the cutest things EVER! Never ceases to amaze me at people's rudeness. What a way to go through life -- being nasty and thinking a PUPPY is ugly. I've yet to see a puppy that wasn't the cutest, fuzziest, funniest thing ever. Screw 'em! Our dogs ROCK!
